Weak zombie flick shot on 5D.

If you're at Cannes film market... take a pass. This little "gem" of a film is the same tired old zombie flick other indies have made before.

There is an added twist... its in Tagalog. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Shaolin Soccer but sadly it does not deliver.

Pity because I like sub movies and the ones which get popular are usually top notch, they have to be in a worldwide market.

The post and effects leave much to be desired, reminiscent of a monarch butterfly smashed on your wind-shield.

Whatever hopes and Dreams the creators had must have surely been smashed when the final cut was made.

Only other review being from one of the staff is very telling.

Grave Bandits Hits the Spot

This film has a combination of different elements that make it work-from the locations, to the two actors who play the leads Romy and Peewee, to the music that just fits perfectly to each scene.

It is interesting to see the movie, because it was shot in the Philippines, thus the audience gets to see a film about the "Undead" or zombies from a different perspective other than the ones we are accustomed to. The film never stops or gets dull-it is constantly moving at a good pace-not too fast, not too slow.

I recommend Grave Bandits for anyone who loves horror films, although it is important to note that this film isn't purely horror. Grave Bandits has nice comedic touches and excellent action sequences added throughout to balance the movie.
