True Life

Warning: Spoilers
If this episode had been titled, base on true events, I wouldn't have been shocked. Austin has become such a crazed left wing bastion that I can imagine them getting rid of a high quality firefighter or police officer for just as stupid a reason as this episode's premise.

In today's easily hurt feelings when someone is acting in a manner, as the wife did, and then have the audacity to make a complaint. Then to try and capitalize on that liberal left wing, butthurt way is not surprising.

Then, add that the husband, who committed felonies, and only got a fine is so true to life in these cities.

Typical Austin

Warning: Spoilers
As a Texan I can say with confidence that this episode shows you exactly the kind of nonsense you will find in Austin. Right down to the husband, who caused the entire situation, not being charged for any of the felonies he committed and the city bowing down to his extortion. This was frustrating to watch, in a lot of ways. I was happy to see something more realistic from HR in the end, recognizing what was happening and recommending the right course of action. Shame on the city (or should I say the writers?) for the direction they went instead. In the end it's cost us the character of Marjan, which is unacceptable. I will continue to watch, but I am not excited for this show without her.

Also, can we take moment to raise an eyebrow at the ludicrous conversation between the HR person and Paul where she says he hasn't changed a bit since grade school? Ummmm, yeah he really, REALLY has. That was just stupid.

This is really crazy

I wonder if it's really possible to wipe feet on a person for such silly reason? Why the hell there are no limits for getting satisfaction in such situations? You've been offended with words (even not the worst, even when you're life was in danger and you acted like a moron), so all you can count on is sincere apology and that's all. What money? What some links to be put on a popular blog? Just shut the door from outside. What a circus was that? And why did the team even discuss it wether to put the link or not? To hell those cynical blackmailers. Marjan did the right thing, but the system seems very weird in a situation like this. Absurd.
