To illustrate Vice Presidents who succeeded to the Presidency, a portrait of Andrew Johnson is shown. It is captioned with the signature of Andrew Jackson.
William Henry Harrison died 31 days into his term, not 32. It is also not known what exactly killed him, though modern interpretations ad evidence suggest that it was cholera that actually killed him, likely due to a contaminated water supply that was used in Washington D.C. at that time, which probably contributed to the death of President Talor while he was in office, and former President James Polk shortly after he left office.
