With its in your face title, LESBIAN BEAUTIES 7: ALL BLACK BEAUTIES broadcasts it could be just another gonzo video aimed at a niche audience, the way such outfits like Black Market, Blacked.com and West Coast Productions milk a particular sub-genre. But director Nica Noelle has her own way of doing things and the result is a positive rather than stereotypical experience.
First surprise is that the four sex scenes are actually united by a storyline, a slight one to be sure but still giving the lovemaking some context and actresses actual characters to portray. Alia Starr, a favorite of Nica's, is a college student planning to move from her parents' home to a spare room at the home of a lesbian couple, Nyomi Banxxx and Imani Rose.
An early non-sex scene of Alia with two school chums is most amusing and plays directly against stereotypes, as a white friend (unidentified actress, unfortunately) tells her Black buddies about her sociology class where she's studying hip-hop, and after she's left the duo laugh about her lame attempt to speak in the language of the Black subculture.
Opening sex scene also has a visual non sequitur/in-joke, as now mature (MILF territory) gonzo sex star Jada Fire is in bed reading Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged". Her lover Skin Diamond arrives and they discuss the impending addition to Skin's household, as a student (Alia) is moving in with her mom Nyomi plus Imani.
The Jada/Diamond sex scene is slow and sensual, against type for Jada who is normally way aggressive and given to all manner of kink including squirting, extreme anal sex, etc. None of that here, and the contrast in body types and skin tone is striking -while both superstar actresses have extreme false eyelashes in common.
Vignette #2 has the 3 college gals chatting. Alia and her fellow student/lover Bella Moretti make love and we have to declare Alia the winner of the Big Bust sweepstakes in this video, her natural wonders even bigger than Nyomi's or Jada's. In fact it becomes apparent that there's a rack jobber dilemma here - do you file LESBIAN BEAUTIES 7 under the obvious Lesbian or All-Black categories or does it rightfully belong in the Busty bin?
Moretti's only other non-gonzo credit I could find is playing Gayle King (who she does not resemble at all) in a parody bio of Oprah. She's appealing here but not given much of a showcase.
After teasing earlier shots of her, Nyomi Banxxx gets down in segment 3 with lover Rose in a very naturalistic sex scene.
Finale is sort of a battle of the aureolae: Jada cheating on her girlfriend to have sex with Banxxx, made worse (though this is only alluded to in passing, a fault in Nica's screenplay) because her girlfriend is Nyomi's daughter Skin. Both actresses have distinctive saucer-size dark nipples and their not-quite-mirror-image (Nyomi is much taller and Jada is near plumper proportions late in her career) match-up is memorable. Checking IMDb, this is one of Jada's final credits, having retired in 2012 from the XXX wars.
Alia never arrives in her new digs and there is none of the expected interaction or drama between her and Skin, as Nica's always open-ended approach is too open-ended this time for me. Ironiically, the entire cast (minus Alia) had a run-through earlier the same year in BLACK LESBIAN ROMANCE, a West Coast Prods. release which from its synopsis (haven't seen it yet) is strictly unrelated gonzo sex vignettes.
