Golffield was shot in a real 1850's goldfield in Metcalfe (Eastern Victoria). Shooting at night, the actors and crew had to be very careful not to fall down any of the deep hand dug mine shafts that were still abundant throughout the location.
Goldfield was named as one of The London Film Reviews top ten short films of 2013.
The film was recently aquired by the Australian Film and Sound Archive to be a part of their permanent collection.
