Deeply Flawed attempt to recapture the thrilling exploits of 007.

Warning: Spoilers
The production value blows the amazing race and the like out of the water, but it comes at the cost of realism and any sense of competition.

Everything is painfully staged to the point of absurdity, and frankly kills any sense of achievment, especially when the show admits no one is racing other teams it is 9 teams of two on their own adventure where the only challenge is their trivia and physical fitness or their deep seated issues.

The problem lies with the editing of the teams experiences, team geezer for example have one of them jump in to the water and after a quick cut away to the utterly useless team sisters, that guy is out of the water, bone dry and lacking any signs of being in very cold water or the associated physical exursion, and his mate, is just lying there chilled out enjoying the view. These two muppets then panic and fuss over the smoke grenade to choose an answer..

The sisters - one girl gets stuck in the mud TWICE and after a quick edit is bone dry, clean and in fresh clothes and shoes before they even REACH the clue box.

Going back to the geezers, they are given a place and street name, and the goal is to get to the second floor, sounds simple right ? Well the door is locked and they have to find another way in, but the producers already set up a scaffold and wooden pallets with some rope ! Two blokes dressed like tourists are throwing a rope over a wall to a villa in venice HOW SUS DOES THAT LOOK ??

Bond fans would be best to use this as back ground noise for the music and skip the rest.

Reality fans enjoy i guess ? ;)

Half way in episode 1 ... hooked see where this is going and made by the James Bond Producers ... you can only expect the best ... total faith in it ... One of the contestants James Bone ... don't tell me they were not influenced by his name and Joe Bone his brother ... pair of lovable characters and welcome back David Arnold the next best music man after John Barry ... great to hear him score Bond again ... why was he never kept on the Bond series ... Brian Cox ... should have been a Bond villain but definitely an M here ... Legend... could be seen in future Bonds ... whenever that may happen... such a promising series 10/10 😊😊😊

Episode 1

With Amazon buying MGM Films. It gives them access to the Bond movies. In association with Eon, they have the Bond IP.

In 007: Road to a Million they aim to exploit that with a high concept game show format that owes more to the BBC's Race Against the World. With added elements of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and The Apprentice.

Actor Brian Cox is the controller who is meant to be villainous. In the first episode he appears to be more of a friendly antagonist.

The first episode features the Bone brothers somewhere in the Scottish Highlands struggling to get an easy question right. Then they end up in Venice looking for a street then having to measure a snake!

They went further than the Pirmohamed sisters whose journey was a short one.

The Bond link was tenuous in the first episode consisting mainly of Bond music.

It is certainly a curiosity, it lacks the licence to thrill.
