[[tmz:video id="0_taewp0ux"]] Cookie Lyon was damn near upstaged on the season premiere of "Empire" by Bravo star Miss Lawrence ... who, coincidentally, got the gig because of his spot-on Cookie impression. Lawrence tells us, he got the role of a lifetime while goofing off with co-star Bevy Smith on the "Fashion Queens" set. Bevy recorded Lawrence doing an homage to Taraji P. Henson's character, and sent the vid to her pal Lee Daniels ... with the message, "Hire him!

Welcome to the reading room! Bravo’s Fashion Queens know a thing or two about couture -- and aren’t afraid to tell it like it is. And the gag award goes to? If you've watched an episode of Bravo's Fashion Queens with hosts Bevy Smith, Derek J, and Miss Lawrence, then you know the trio spares no feelings when it comes to dishing the cold, hard, truth about celebrity fashion. Photos: Best dressed stars at the 2015 Grammys For a very special Us Weekly edition, Smith talks her best and worst dressed celebrities at the 2015 Grammy Awards, which aired from Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 8, — including Taylor Swift's aquamarine Elie Saab gown [...]...

Drag has taken over pop culture. Just look at Derek J. and Miss Lawrence’s lipstick-laced chitchats on Bravo’s Fashion Queens. Or the extravaganza that is Logo’s Rupaul’s Drag Race. But men dressing like ladies — rocking makeup, specifically — has been around since the dawn of man. As women, we’re cool with it, until the men start looking hotter than we do. No fair!
Terry Richardson‘s portrait of James Franco (complete with powder blue eyeshadow and electric pink lips) was so glamorous, we seethed with envy. And what about Neil Patrick Harris, doused in glitter and gloss in Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch? So good. Excuse us while we race for Sephora’s club kid section.
From Jared Leto to Johnny Depp, check out our favorite male celebs who actually look prettier than women in makeup!

Last night at the Stonewall Community Foundation’s Vision Awards, filmmaker Lee Daniels was honored “for his confidence, courage, and creativity.” Bevy Smith, the co-host of Bravo’s Fashion Queens and one of the emcees for the night, introduced him, and when Daniels ambled up onto the stage in his signature pajama pant, Smith told him on the sly that the award looked “like an ovary” — something Daniels immediately announced to the audience. Then he gave a speech about how kids these days don’t know their Lgbt history, being selfish as a filmmaker, and dedicating the award to his partner, Fisher, who has to endure street harassment every day.I go to these things and I normally don’t get nervous, but I am nervous. I’m nervous because I’m with family, and it’s a deeply deeply important moment for me, and I want to thank everybody...

More than one person has asked me if "Fashion Queens" is for real. They're not really joking, either. If any show looked more like a "Saturday Night Live" sketch than an actual program, it's this one. The fashion-focused talk show, which features cross-dressing Atlanta hairstylists Derek J and Miss Lawrence (well known to fans of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta") as well as New York "fashion maven" Bevy Smith, appears to have a budget of about $25, give or take. Most of this appears to be spent on the set's wall padding, shoes and background wigs. Yes, background wigs. I think...
