I enjoyed this journey in Algarve: beatiful landscapes and nice encounters.
So many interesting aspects: the people of the sea (the caravel "Boa Esperança",the fishing boats looking for the tuna and the sardines), the reconversion to touristic boats- the solar powered boat of Luis Lourenco-, the beaches of the Algarve (Praia da Rocha with,too many buildings,the wild beaches, the Dutch sculptor and his wife who organizes suppers),the Portuguese cuisine (the fresh products bought in the local market, the traditional "bacalhau, the revisited gastronomy by the chef Dieter Koschina at Vila Joya restaurant), the new vineyard managed buy Patrick Agostini, the Portuguese people and the horses (the horse fair of Estol with its hitch races, the Lusitanian horses and Antonio Palha, the horse breeder), the salt marsh in the nature reserve of Ria Formosa ( the traditional salt production and the "fleur de sel".
I enjoyed the encounters of Sophie with Luis Miguel Ferrita Batista , the warden of the lighthouse of Saint-Vincent Cape, with Trent Morley and Brett Ringsell (the Kayak Adventures in Lagos), with Zeka, the sand sculptor in Péra, with Mafalda Arnauth, the fado singer, with Paulo and Maria Helena in Monchique (the arbutus tree, the pork meat, the distillery), with Leonel Pelo the potter in Monchique, with Claude and his organic farm in Carrapateira, with Manuel José Perreira, the biker of Faro, with José Fernandes Estevens (the mayor of Castro Marim and organizer of the Medieval Fair), with Barbara Abelho, the biologist (the visit of the nature reserve of Ria Formosa,the village of Arraial Ferreira Neto and the anchor cemetery) ), with Fabia Pinto the caretaker at the birds rescue center, with Carlos Belhy (the visit of the village of Arraial Ferreira Neto): very nice encounters with very kind Portuguese men and women.
