Web Series Review: Commando streaming on Disney+ Hotstar

This 4 part web series is about Pakistan trying to use biological warfare against India. An Indian spy arrested by the Pak army & our daredevil commandos crossing the border, breaking into a high security prison in Pak to rescue him!! How very original 😡😡

Frankly I'm bored to death watching these Pak bashing narratives . This plot has been used so many times that u can write a review just by watching the first episode ( to set things in the rt perspective - I DID watch the entire series 😁😁!!).

The cast - Prem Parija as Commando Virat Singh looks ripped and handsome .. but his acting skills are a suspect!!

Adah Sharma as Bhavana Reddy is downright irritating with her Hyderabadi accent and is more of a comic character than a commando.

Vaibhav Tatwawadi's performance as commando Kahtij Mehra is just ABT passable. Not his fault .. a weak script proves to be his undoing 😞 Amit Sial as ISI chief Jaffer, like Tatwawadi is let down by a weak script.

Tigmanshu Dhulia as Sial's Indian counterpart (R&W Chief) gives a okay performance!!

After watching some brilliant stuff like Special Ops and Special Ops 1.5 this one is really not up to the mark . The benchmark set by KK Menon is too high for it to match.

To cut the makers some slack, there are a few well choreographed action scenes worth watching.

If u still decide to watch this despite my warning , the other saving grace is that the series has only 4 episodes which will cut down ur agony a bit ... Now that's some consolation folks 😁😁 Better luck next time Vipul Amritlal Shah 😞 . Bro get out of the 90s for heaven's sake , we r in the 2020's now !!

In my opinion, this series served merely as a pastime. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but if you find yourself with nothing else to watch, you can give it a try.

I watched this series and I really say we miss Vidyut Jamwal here. Overall I say it is time pass series not good not bad.

The trailer itself reveals the storyline of the series, so when we sit to watch, we already know what will happen. The only thing for which we should watch this series is the action and fight movie scenes.

Marathi actor Vaibhav has played the good character of Spy. Prem looks good but somewhere Adah Sharma is doing over acting. Those people who love to watch suspense and thrillers I asked them not to watch. And those who only like to watch it fighting is for all those people. So overall, it is a timepass.

So childish that even Tom and jerry would be a better watch. It's a waste of funds and time for every individual who is involved. Such actors and writers should quit this business and start some other business. Most horrible show available.

The story is weak, the acting is pathetic , and not to forget that abysmal display of how India's soldiers are. The show will feature in the most disastrous show ever made. They think Pakistan is so free that they would such things. Stop hate shows and start something good. These shows are the reason for hate growing among Indians. Ban this show.

This is just another so called action TV series with no logic, no good plot or story, no real looking characters. RAW agents are showing 6 pack abs , riding fancy bikes, using the word commando in every sentence. Overacting from everyone. This series is full of factual errors. Pros- Good show for a weekend binge watch, especially if you are an action movie fan Performance - Every actor gave mostly convincing performances, great debut by Prem parijaa in an all out action hero role (didn't seem like this was his first time in a major role) Good the background score

Cons - The editing was sub par with some shots going on for too long and some ending too soon BGM could have been used more for some scenes to create better elevation Screenplay - some of the scenes did not look organic and didn't add to the story Dialogues - some dialogues sounded very superficial

Overall a show definitely worth a giving a watch, and great to see new talented actors getting chances.

Very boring series with no story line and no thriller. They just made a joke of word Commando. Fully waste of time. Please don't watch if you are lover of crime thriller genre...The direction, songs, acting, comedy, choreography nothing is good. Hotstar is becoming boring nowadays. Half of the film story the had shown in the trailer. Rating of 1 out of 10 is also very good for this type of series.. How they can waste their money for this type of series? The acting of prem was so worst, no emotions no expression. Adah and Amit was little bit good to stop the viewers for a while.

Decent one time watch Series with a very basic plot for any spy thriller. Watch it for the action and the new comer Prem Parija. Didn't seem like it was his first series looking at his action and acting. Good to see new comers getting a big platform to show case the talent.

The screenplay and dialogues were poor. Amit Sial is a Pakistani general with a very distinct UP accent and it was similar with other actors who were portraying roles as Pakistanis.

Action and music was really good and Prem Parija was really fantastic in his role. Shreya Chaudhary and Adah Sharma were also good in their roles but were limited because of poor direction.

This web series is nothing but A Pointless Addition To The Franchise That Doesn't Explore Anything New. An Unnecessary Sequel is a Cheap Knockoff. He moment the series starts, you know what will happen. On top of that, Commando (2023) has its brave guards of the country make such cliched and, frankly, stupid decisions that you'd be forced to roll your eyes to oblivion every few minutes. Plus, it doesn't help that this storyline has already occurred in some of Shah's own films from the past as well as other pieces of media. The dialogues, the way the story flows, and the screenplay everything is just recycled material in a Prem-ified package.

Who is this Prem Parrija?

He is neither have looks nor the acting skills. Below average storyline. Wahi old ghisa pita formula India Pakistan aur deadly virus. Grow up guys.

Poor direction, poor screenplay, poor execution. Har dialogue me Commando, Commando bolna zaruri hai kya?

Talented actors like Amit Sial, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Vaibhav, Shreya wasted.

I don't know whats with building muscles and acting. These days the muscular you look, the worst your acting skills are. Jitna time gym mai lagaya utna hi time acting skills mai lagata to shyad acting sikh jata.

I don't know how the casting was done. I guess they went to the gyms and picked the muscular guy who can do overacting.

Although was hesitant to watch this series because of the actor. But he justified very well to his character play and actions.

There are lots of errors and Poor acting specially by new comers, committed errors i.e Car of Pakistani army, Field soldiers are interfering in diplomatics and many more , dialogue delivery by new actors like Main character Virat. There are very Lack of logic in this series, totally kachraaa but hats of Tigmanshu duliya, Amit sial and shahaji Chaudhary sir. I request to makers that view of hindi audiance have developed so please make a logical sense in your work , don't make it like superficial and hero centric, we need best acting and normal reality which we can relate. Probably the worst series I have watches on India and Pakistan! The acting is very childish. Matlab yaar kuch bhi dikha rhe ho.. and Adah Sharma you think you sound all cute with that South Indian accent, but no you don't! Please please please stop making such shows! Don't fool the audience! Just because you have a face cut like Vidyut Jamal you cannot be him Prem! Please understand! Very poor acting! It feels like Kshitij was not tortured , I was tortured! The audience was tortured! Kyu karte ho yaar esa? Only good acting was of Jaffer! Kuch bhi Kar rhe ho yaar! Pakistan Ki jail ko thoda toh dhang se todte yaar!

It's a great one time watch! Action packed and has a decent pace. At 4 episodes only, the show doesnt feel like its dragging and keeps a quick pace. Action scenes are extremely well choreographed and if you are looking to watch some intense action scenes- try this series. Dialogues can be a bit better and there are a few convenient loopholes, but easy to ignore them if you accept the universe that Shah has built and just surrender to the series as it is.

Great acting by Adah Sharma, even though the south Indian accent seems a bit unnatural at times. Have to give a huge shoutout to the debutante Prem Parijaa who is the male lead. He does a great job during the action sequences, and overall a pretty decent first performance.

A hodgepodge is created with a very lame story and poor acting, where hatred towards Pakistan is the only asset. Now across Bollywood there is a resurgence - making Pakistan the central hero, vilifying her a bit - making movies wrapped in cold indigestion patriotism. These are definitely lack of basic script, for which take Pakistani tone. Unfortunately for us, we have to watch them in the name of movies. OTT platforms are also taking such shortcuts to make quick money these days, in our country. Their situation will also be like Bollywood in the future - they will kill flies. Because without the strength of the story, Pakistan cannot survive.
