The film was original shot in 1967, during the band's tour of the UK, for a proposed television special for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). When the film negative was processed, the print was damaged. This caused Peter Clifton to remove scenes from the film. The ABC rejected the film based on its length and the print was lost for 43 years until a fan recognised the film screening at a film festival in San Francisco. The film was brought back to Australia and restored by Clifton. The final edit was screened at the Sydney Film Festival.
