- After a night of heavy drinking to celebrate his birthday, Porthos wakes in the street next to a corpse, with no recall of events. He is arrested and sentenced to hang but rescued by boyhood friend Charon and taken to the Court of Miracles, a sanctuary for law-breakers. The other Musketeers identify the dead man as Jean De Mauvoisin but find that he was killed some distance from where his body was found. It becomes apparent that Jean's father, in league with Charon, was planning to blow up the Court of Miracles for financial gain and Jean was silenced when he found out. With dozens of barrels of gunpowder installed at the court, the Musketeers must prevent a massacre as well as clearing Porthos's name.—don @ minifie-1
- Porthos wakes up after his drunk birthday celebration next to the corpse of stabbed young nobleman Jean De Mauvoisin and is arrested and summarily convicted as the sole murder suspect. While the Musketeer mates work out foul play, linked to Jean's bitterly impoverished father Emile's part in a major real-estate project, Porthos is saved by abduction to the Court of Miracles, the 'realm of Paris thieves,' ruled by his former youth buddy Charon, who still fears losing his lover Flea to her old flame Porthos. A pile of gunpowder renders the plot most urgent.—KGF Vissers
