Great story - poor acting
benwinstead22 April 2020
Although a few in the cast were pretty good, all in all this viewed like an amateur production. Story line was very interesting but barely made it to the ending. In some of the "dramatic moment" scenes I thought my streaming had froze... example - Kinney's funeral march with the overly long zoom on his daughter.... I would love to see this get remade by a major production, but only if they stay to the historical story line. Not like the tourist stories in Branson.

Terrible acting

I thought it was a factual story. but the acting was so bad, I wasn't sure if it wasn't a poor high school production. The actors were stiff and unbelievable. Dialogue seemed totally fake. .

The hero

Warning: Spoilers
Right so just watched this on Prime Eire, dear god Amazon you owe me 2hrs 34 mins of my life back. As said in title the "hero" of the story is a guy who can't handle the fact, a guy gets away with murder within the first ten mins, now the problem is he gets so high and mighty over this, a fist fight that ends with two men drawing their pistols on each other and he decides to set up a militia to right the wrongs in the county, hmm sounds like a good guy right ? Wrong, as the "hero" shoots dead an unarmed teenager (rebel solider) who btw the way had already being shot prior to the "hero" showing up, prior to said shooting for setting up his justice squad and this guy is made out to be a "hero"

As Don King famously said, "only in America"

Gave it a two for the scenery/nature shots

Thank you so much for making this film

Obviously, was made on a very small budget. If you can get past the poor production value, you'll see that this film depicts a fascinating story about a true piece of history from the Ozarks! I've been dreaming for some time of seeing this piece of History materialized into a film! I hope that people will take notice, and give these guys the budget that they need to produce a quality original series about these people and events!
