With the increasing numbers of people suffering with depression and anxiety during this pandemic, I surface dive into the deep issue that is mental health. Specifically this week I will be talking about mental health candidly while trying to provide some practical advice about how I have coped with depression and anxiety, and a general platform and podcast aimed to make those suffering feel less alone. I am not a health care worker or expert just a student who knows how shit I can be in those super dark places, and want to create a platform to help those feelings the same way.

Join me Jamila Okoro, and Katende Amery as we discuss the very important topic that is the Black Lives Matter movement, racism and discrimination in the 21st century. We also touch on unpacking white privilege and white fragility. Katende and Jamila also talk about their own personal experiences of being black growing up in majority white areas, and how we can all learn to be aware and support the BLM movement.

Fear of death etc. We will also address how to cope with loosing that childhood innocence, as we grow up and and pressure we feel as young people to achieve.

A conversation that is particularly slept on even thought very important, as us women enter the world of sexism, puberty, relationships and internalised misogyny. We talk about why we find female friends important, what internalised misogyny can look like, advice for younger girls, and for future women go uplift one another, and how to make the most of your gal pals, as we are awesome.

Today is my Dad's 57th birthday, and I thought no better time to release an episode on my loss journey since his passing in July 2021. This episode will be a open free conversations about how to support someone through grief, how to look after yourself and a little bit about my story. Take a tea or coffee and hopefully we can all move fowards with kindness to ourselves and others after listening.
