Silent Witness at its very best! Brilliant.

A body is pulled out of a reservoir, the early assumption is made that it's the body of Doctor Beck's missing wife. Velvy finds a vital clue on a piece of rope.

I was fearful after such a great start, that it may dip a little, it doesn't, that brilliance is maintained here.

It may not have been as shocking as the first part, but what elevates this second part, the writing, almost every single plot thread is developed, nothing at all is wasted. A wonderful, well plotted story, and characters that are genuinely interesting.

It's all story, there's no filler, no romance, no family stuff, dare I say no preaching, the full focus is on the story, as it should be.

The best element, John Hannah, I'll admit I was excited when I saw that he was appearing, and as you'd expect, he's brilliant.

I can't lie, I was super critical of Velvy in the previous series, I just found him irritating, but talk about a transformation, he was great here, way more interesting, no longer the fall guy it seems.

I hope Gabriel gets a moment in this series, he's still too much of a background player, very good actor, the character is just a little invisible.

Congratulations to all involved, you've delivered a wonderful two part story, terrific.

10/10.
