You can't knock the subjects of this doc, they are who they are, even if some of it is playing to the cameras. The real culprit here is MacIntyre. It's so badly written and voiced its more like a film students first year project. MacIntyres script isn't funny, although it sometimes tries to be, and it isn't revealing. This is gangland on a budget. There's no real insight into the gang world or what it's really like. No more than you would get from any cop show featuring petty criminals and car thefts. Whatever happened in the past you feel like happened a long long long time ago and this film crew missed the boat. Rather than giving us an insight into organised crime or gang life it leaves you feeling overwhelmingly sorry for all those involved, especially the young ones who have thrown away their lives by falling into the petty crime world. And most of the underachieving adults seem as lost as the kids. Yet again this kind of film ultimately shows us that crime does not pay. Noonan is in prison, His son is in prison. Most of the young people featured as the 'gang' are in prison. No body has any money and even the 'right hand man' Bouncer Cody was last seen unemployed without a pot to piss in, tying to get patrons on a You Tube channel. I bet they all wish they could turn back the clock and start again. That would be a much more interesting story than this one. Depressing.
