- The opening scene sees Arthur working as a life model. All nudity is concealed by carefully placed props and framing, but we do see the the (horrified) reactions on the faces of the art students.
- Also during the life class, there is a gag about Arthur sitting astride in a chair with a hole cut in its lower back while nude (over the protests of the class instructor). A student rushes out of the room to be sick. All nudity is implied not shown.
- Much to Michael's chagrin, Arthur keeps showing him one of the sketches from the life class (once in the scene directly after the life class and once in the final scene) with some oblique references to the depiction of Arthur's privates. The viewer never actually sees the sketch.
