- The six remaining contestants have to capture a flag on a hill while avoiding three snipers, solve three brain-teaser puzzles and photograph some wildlife before their knowledge of the Mole's identity and actions is again put to the test when they sit their next computer quiz, from which the person with the lowest score is eliminated.—Allister Coots
- The six remaining contestants met host Grant Bowler in the wilderness near Strahan ready to face their next challenge. They had to reach a red flag that was located between two radio towers on a hill above where the group now stood within 30 minutes, while evading three snipers, including one in a helicopter, who would shoot at them with paintball guns. Each person in the group would also be armed with a paintball gun, and if a sniper shot a contestant, a contestant shot a sniper or a contestant shot another contestant, whoever was shot would be taken out of the game. What made the last scenario a realistic possibility was that if two or more contestants were still alive when they reached the flag, they would win A$10,000 for the kitty, but if there was only one contestant alive when they reached the flag, then in addition to winning A$10,000 for the kitty, that person would win a free pass to the next episode by not having to face the next elimination quiz. Ben, Bev, Jan and Linda were the first four people to be taken out of the challenge, while Abby shot one of the snipers before she was shot by another sniper. That left Alan as the last player standing, and he eliminated the last two snipers and took the red flag within the time limit, winning A$10,000 for the group kitty and a free pass for himself.
Next, the group were taken to a house in Strahan where they were divided into two teams of three people and set the challenge of solving three brainteaser puzzles located inside the house. Each puzzle had to be answered correctly before a team could move on to the next puzzle, any incorrect guesses would see that team incur a five minute penalty, and if the two teams made it out of the house in a combined time of 45 minutes or less, they would win A$5,000 for the group kitty. The first group, which consisted of Alan, Bev and Jan, did well in the task, making it quickly through the house and only making one incorrect guess through all three puzzles, but for the other group of Abby, Ben and Linda, it was a disaster - they took 17 minutes to come up with the correct solution to the first puzzle, making two incorrect guesses in the process, and failed to solve the second puzzle when the time ran out, resulting in the money being lost.
The group were then divided into three teams of two people and given the challenge of photographing wildlife. One group were sent to a beach, another group were sent to a forest and the third group were sent to open water in order to look for species of wildlife over a set period of time. When the time was up, each group had to submit their best four photographs, and if a wildlife expert found six distinct species among the twelve photographs submitted, A$10,000 would be won for the kitty. Abby was paired with Linda, but the pictures they submitted included two of their lens cap, one of just grey clouds and one of Abby. Although Alan and Bev took four photos of their terrain, none of them had any species of wildlife. Ben and Jan were the most successful group, with their photos including three distinct species, but it was only half of the target and the challenge failed.
With the kitty at A$70,000 out of a possible A$120,000, five of the six contestants faced another computer quiz to find out what more they had learned about the Mole. Having won a free pass by capturing the flag on his own, Alan was excused from the quiz, meaning that he and the Mole would be the only people who knew that they were safe from the coming elimination. After the five other contestants had each set the test, they re-joined Grant, who then typed some of their names into the computer. After he typed Ben's name in, the screen turned red, making him the fifth contestant to be eliminated, because he suspected the wrong person of being the Mole.
