Learn more- Cory Woodward performing LIVE the song Pick Me Up filmed by MRLOVEFILM The White Suit Tour -LIVE with special guests Nat Jay and Adaline Vancouver-based singer and songwriter Cory Woodward lays bare his battles with depression and addiction during his Truth Tour. "The Truth is a collection of songs that are a detailed expression of my world during a time of major transition," said Woodward, in a press release. "They are songs written from personal experience; they're cries for help, a longing for change of oneself and the world, all spawned from years of battling depression and addiction on numerous fronts." In my heart my main driving passion behind creating and sharing music with the world is to offer a path to self awareness and love!
Canadian alt-pop artist Adaline fuses powerfully evocative music with an emotionally unbound lyrical honesty. This authenticity appeals to her growing fanbase and is why she is considered "one of the best young songwriters in the country" (CBC Q) and "a rising Canadian talent that takes listeners to angelic heights" (Billboard Magazine). She has released four critically acclaimed studio albums garnering millions of streams, dozens of editorial playlist adds, and a nomination for "Pop Album of the Year" at the Western Canadian Music Awards. A prolific songwriter, Adaline has had songs licensed in more than 85 film and television scenes including multiple songs on Grey's Anatomy, 90210, Tiny Pretty Things, MacGyver and more. She collaborated on songs for The Canyons score starring Lindsay Lohan with Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene and was selected for a composer residency at the prestigious Norman Jewison's Canadian Film Centre.
Nat Jay's songs are personal to her, but relatable to many; her voice soft and measured, but powerful and dynamic. Raised in a classical household, Nat Jay took her first steps in her parents' music school. She went on to study flute at the University of British Columbia, until chronic wrist pain refocused her love of music towards singing. Soon after earning her degree, she began songwriting and connected with producer Winston Hauschild, who became her collaborator of many years. The team worked together on two EPs, several singles, and the full-length album, All I Think When I Wake Up, which received a nomination for Pop Album of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards and was named in the Top 10 Pop Albums of the Year on PopDose.
Over the years, Nat Jay has shared the stage with such esteemed songwriters as Canada's own JUNO Award winners Dan Mangan and Sebell, as well as Matthew Barber, Oh Susanna, Justin Rutledge, Jay Brannan, and Angus & Julia Stone. Directing her attention towards her songwriting and recording in recent times, she has also shifted her penchant from guitar and vocal pop-folk towards a more commercial electropop sound.
The artist engaged the assistance of award-winning European pop producer Ovidiu "Ovi" Bistriceanu to construct her 2019 album The Flash of a Fight, which blazed through streaming platforms after two high profile placements on Netflix's #1 worldwide hit, Tiny Pretty Things, and Nickelodeon's Ron Howard/Brian Grazer production, The Astronauts.
