- Alex Blake: Identical twins! What are the odds?
- David Rossi: About 3.5 per thousand
- [Alex gazes at David]
- David Rossi: Well, I asked the Reid the same question.
- Aaron Hotchner: [closing quote] "They mess you up, your mom and dad. They may not mean to, but they do. They fill you with the faults they had and some extra, just for you" - Philip Larkin
- David Rossi: Pretty impressive. A case that could have ended with egg on our face turns out to be one of those "Did you hear about this?" stories on the Internet. Apparently, the BAU is trending on Twitter. Whatever that means.
- Derek Morgan: [opening quote] "We are not only our brother's keeper, in countless large and small ways, we are our bother's maker" - Bonaro Overstreet
- [last lines]
- Aaron Hotchner: I've just heard that the Attorney General is, uh, very pleased.
- David Rossi: Now, they seldom call with just good news.
- Aaron Hotchner: They were also so happy with the way things turned out, that unfortunately, they've withdrawn my name as a candidate for section chief.
- David Rossi: I'll drink to that.
- [they clink glasses]
- David Rossi: So that means we've got a new boss. Any idea who?
- Aaron Hotchner: They didn't say, but they did say that they were thinking outside the box.
- David Rossi: Uh oh.
- Aaron Hotchner: Exactly.
- David Rossi: Well, whatever happens, I'm sure it will be interesting. Always is.
- Bill Robbins: You like my artwork?
- Dr. Spencer Reid: Yeah, I do! Is that your feces?
- Bill Robbins: Maybe
- Alex Blake: So Mom's been manipulating Jesse from the beginning. To do what?
- Aaron Hotchner: To kill Wallace.
- Jennifer Jareau: Is she capable of that?
- Aaron Hotchner: She's a vindictive narcissist whose entire self-image is wrapped up in being the perfect mother.
- Elizabeth Nash: All I was trying to say is, this is all gonna blow over once they catch the right guy
- Jesse Gentry: Yes. It's just... sometimes... it's hard to tell who the right guy is!
- Dr. Spencer Reid: Wallace's M.O. The rape, bullet through the heart. He even tried to pose her.
- Jennifer Jareau: But he didn't try to force-feed her, which is his signature. And this crime scene?
- Dr. Spencer Reid: Organized, skilled. Got in and out without detection.
- Jennifer Jareau: Exactly. If Wallace is losing it, he wouldn't be capable of this.
- Dr. Spencer Reid: Maybe he re-evolved.
- Jennifer Jareau: Or we have a copycat, who's a literal copy.
- Dr. Spencer Reid: Jesse? But why start now? Why this victim?
- Aaron Hotchner: Mr. Robbins, which son is this?
- Bill Robbins: [moves his right fingers and sees the son's fingers moving] That's Wallace. He's teachable. I taught him to do that whenever he gets nervous.
- Aaron Hotchner: Wallace Hines, you're under arrest.
- Wallace Hines: Mom? Mom, what do I do now? Mommy, no! Mom!
- Mark Anderson: If you arrest my client again: lawsuit. If you harass him: lawsuit. If you follow him: lawsuit. If you sneeze in a general direction: lawsuit
- Aaron Hotchner: Your client was arrested as we were closing in on his brother. You're telling me that was a coincidence?
- Mark Anderson: I'm going to "yes, and" you. Yes, and I can prove it in a court of law.
- Derek Morgan: It's all conjecture, because there's nothing deviant in this guy's history. But if you wanted to do something bad, wouldn't it be nice to have another version of you to blame it on?
- Jesse Gentry: Hey, look, I gotta go walk this dog, so...
- Wallace Hines: Jesse. You're not tying me up again. Or giving me any more pills. Just go. I'll be fine. I know why you're doing all this.
- Jesse Gentry: Really? Why?
- Wallace Hines: You want to be like me.
- Jesse Gentry: No, I don't.
- Wallace Hines: Then why bring me here? Why try to understand me? Why care? You want to know me so you can be me... And that's why I'm not gonna leave... Because I want that, too.
- Carla Hines: What's the matter?
- Wallace Hines: You hate me, don't you?
- Carla Hines: I do not hate you. I love you. I love you so much. I want to just eat... you... up.
- [to Jesse]
- Carla Hines: Do it fast.
- Jesse Gentry: No.
- Carla Hines: Jesse?
- [Jesse holds her with the cleaver]
- Carla Hines: What are you doing?
- Jesse Gentry: I spent some quality time with Wallace, Mom. And I've discovered that I've got more in common with him than with you.
- Wallace Hines: [holds the gun] Jesse, you put down that cleaver.
- Jesse Gentry: Just listen to me.
- Wallace Hines: No. You listen to me! Don't you hurt her.
- Jesse Gentry: Do you even know who she is?
- Wallace Hines: She's our mother.
- Jesse Gentry: Mother? She abandoned me! And then she tried to convince me to kill you.
- Wallace Hines: You're lying!
- Jesse Gentry: I'm not!
- Wallace Hines: She wouldn't do that.
- Jesse Gentry: She begged me to do it.
- Wallace Hines: Did you say yes?
- Jesse Gentry: Yeah, I did. But I couldn't go through with it.
- Carla Hines: It's not true.
- Jesse Gentry: I'm like you, remember?
- Carla Hines: Wallace was out of control. He forced us to come here. He was gonna shoot us both. Thank God, Jesse was stronger than he was.
- Wallace Hines: [pretends to be Jesse Gentry] I'll only talk to my lawyer.
- Aaron Hotchner: Take them both into custody.
- Alex Blake: Show me your hands.
- David Rossi: We'll fingerprint him at the station, see who matches who.
- Aaron Hotchner: Fingerprint analysis isn't an exact science. A good defense lawyer can poke holes in it.
- David Rossi: Juries expect DNA, and DNA isn't gonna make the case here.
- Aaron Hotchner: No, but behavior might. Sergeant, I need you to do something.
- Jesse Gentry: You know who I am? Our mother ever talk about me?
- Wallace Hines: No.
- Jesse Gentry: Why did she keep you?
- Wallace Hines: Who are you?
- Jesse Gentry: I'm Jesse. I'm Jesse Gentry. I'm the one she put up for adoption.
- Wallace Hines: What do you want? An apology?
- Jesse Gentry: I want answers.
- Wallace Hines: Untie me and we'll talk.
- Jesse Gentry: After what they're charging you with? I don't think so.
- Wallace Hines: Where are we?
- Jesse Gentry: Place I dogsit. One of the partners at my firm, she's out of town. And the stress from this unfortunate incident has earned me some time off. They won't find us.
- Wallace Hines: What do you want to know?
- Jesse Gentry: I want to know if my life is over. How bad it's gonna be when I walk down the street. I want to know everything you did.
- Jesse Gentry: You were right. I am like you. I've always been like you.
- Wallace Hines: That's why you found me, isn't it?
- Jesse Gentry: Yeah. And I know this is gonna sound totally weird, but I was hoping we could do this one together.
- Wallace Hines: That's not weird. That's not weird at all.
