Directors: Jesse Baget, Elias Benavidez, Andrés Borghi, Jay Holben, Mike Kochansky, James Kondelik, Jon Kondelik, Bryan Norton, Antonio Padovan, Ryan Patch, Marc Roussel. Cast: Landon Ackerman and April Adamson. The first All Hallow's Eve came out in 2013. The first film hosted three fearsome short films. Each revolved around a murderous clown. This second release has expanded to eight films. This time the cast and crew have greatly increased, while the wraparound has decreased in importance. This film viewer enjoyed three films more than the rest, including: "A Boy's Life," "The Last Halloween," and "Alexia." These three stood out from the others by focusing on a horrifying and sometimes surprising tone. In the line-up, "The Last Halloween" appears second. This film, completed in 2014, follows four trick-or-treaters. This short quartet are out for candy, during an apocalypse. The locals are not very receptive to their demands for sweets. But, the tables turn as this short crew.

Tagline: "Don't Answer the Door." The first All Hallow's Eve released in 2013. This first film was a horror, short film anthology. The sequel, All Hallow's Eve 2, will follow this precedent, with several more tales of terror. The film hosts at least ten directors. In this outing, The Kondelik Brothers (The Divine Tragedies) and Bryan Norton (Penny Dreadful) will helm two of the eight stories. The stories are titled: "A Boy's Life," "Alexia," "Descent," "Mr. Tricker's Treat," "M is for Masochist," "Jack Attack," "The Offering," and "The Last Halloween." And, a preview of this film's DVD launch is hosted here. The film's wraparound involves a young woman and a sinister VHS tape. The tape shows her scenes of torture and murder. Meanwhile, a pumpkin faced killer is taunting the woman, until he enters her bloody reality. Marc Roussel's "The Last Halloween" was released in late 2014. Fans can see this entire short,...

"The Last Halloween" is a fantastic, eerie award-winning horror short that follows four trick-or-treaters who are going door to door in a post-apocalyptic landscape on Halloween night. It was directed by Marc Roussel, and I really liked the tone and vibe and Halloween spirit of this film. Here's the synopsis that came along with the short:
The city is quiet; the streets, deserted. It doesn’t much feel like Halloween, and yet four young trick-or-treaters – a Ghost, a Devil, a Grim Reaper and a Witch – make their way through the night, door to door and house by house, gathering up an unlikely harvest of kindness amid the devastated wreckage of society’s collapse. In a world where the only rule is that there are no rules anymore, it is perhaps a fitting irony that it should all come down to this… a simple choice between two starkly different options.

Richard Powell's Heir will screen at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, Canada tomorrow, and the first teaser suggests that something awfully horrible will be unfolding. Powell and his team have previously made Worm, Familiar, Remote, and The Last Halloween, and Heir looks set to join them as a strong jolt to the system. This practical effects horror short is a monster movie unlike any other, it is a bleak and fantastical examination of one of [society's] darkest taboos that aims to stimulate the mind and wrench the gut with equal power. Bill Oberst Jr (Resolution) and Robert Nolan lead the cast. We've already seen the first images, and the visuals deepen an atmosphere of dread. You can visit the Fantasia site for more...

I was lucky enough to screen Heir a couple months back and I was very taken with it. It was truly shocking in the all the best ways, dealing with taboo subject matter in a way that only horror can do. After three shorts now, I'm definitely curious what director Richard Powell can do with feature material and a budget to match.

The last Halloween movie was Rob Zombie‘s Halloween II in 2009, since then people have been wondering when we might see Michael Myers again. Well we have a rough idea now and it doesn’t sound all that terrible. Dimension Films and Trancas International Films have officially announced that Halloween Returns goes into production in July.
Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (Piranha 3Dd, The Collector, The Collection) wrote the script and Dunstan will be directing this new installment.
Moviehole claims to have the story details:
“Halloween Returns will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop whose long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter. Myers is now on death row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution.

Every now and then a short film comes along that completely captivates. Marc Roussels new Halloween short The Last Halloween is most certainly that film and Im out to do everything in my power to ensure people have the chance to see this one. Its a picture that doesnt deserve to be lost victimized by the clich crack slippage. Perhaps more importantly its a picture that could truly kickstart Roussels directorial (the man already has a history in the business) career.

One of the films I selected for Beyond Fest in Los Angeles this season has made its way online. It's called The Last Halloween from director Marc Roussel and you can now watch it here! I think it'll get you in the holiday mood.
The short also recently played at Screamfest and Sitges.

As another autumn approaches, horror hounds look forward to the chill of pumpkin guts on their hands, the crunch of leaves under their shoes, and, for some, pulling their copy of October Dreams: A Celebration of Halloween off the bookshelf for another round of seasonal reading. Published in 2000, Cemetery Dance’s collection of Halloween stories, reflections, and essays now has a sequel on the way.
Featuring an abundance of short pieces by a wide range of authors, October Dreams II: A Celebration of Halloween doesn’t yet have an official release date, but it is expected to come out soon in a hardcover edition from Cemetery Dance. The tome of terror includes stories by Ray Bradbury, Dean Koontz, Robert Bloch, and many more. We have the official release details and cover art below. To learn more or pre-order a copy, visit:

The last Halloween movie to hit theaters was Rob Zombie‘s Halloween II in 2009; it was a good effort but was not as brave as his 2007 remake. Since II people have been wondering if and when we would see Michael Myers walking slowly again, well it’s happening, that much we do know.
Dimension Films and producer Malek Akkad from trying to make it happen again. Akkad said via the Halloween Facebook page:
“We’ve been getting a lot of e-mails/tweets/Facebook messages lately about a project called Halloween: The Next Chapter. It seems that’s the latest buzz surrounding the next Halloween film and again it’s just not true. As we stated before, a new installment of Halloween is indeed in on track and moving forward and we are currently developing a script, to finally bring Michael back to the theaters! More information will be released...

Tristan Risk, who wowed audiences in the role of Beatress in American Mary last year, will be bringing her fabulous talents to the set of director Ryan M. Andrews' newest project, Save Yourself, which begins filming soon.
Little Miss Risk can also be seen in the new short film Call Girl, the upcoming Fetish Factory and Fembot, as well as many other entertainingly twisted underground projects, leading to what is sure to be a huge and exciting year for her. Currently, she joins Jessica Cameron amongst a fully Canadian cast in Andrews' Save Yourself.
Andrews is completely stoked to be working with Risk. "The Soskas’ film American Mary was arguably the biggest indie film of last year, and Tristan Risk’s character, Beatress, was a stand-out performance," Andrews said. The already stellar cast of the upcoming film Save Yourself has added another great talent. One of my favorite indie actresses Tristan Risk has joined the project. Check out the full details below.
From The Press Release:
Director Ryan M. Andrews is excited to attach American Mary star Tristan Risk to a powerhouse ensemble cast of Canadian talent in Save Yourself, shooting this summer. Risk joins the previously announced cast of Jessica Cameron (Truth Or Dare), Ry Barrett (The Demolisher), Tianna Nori (Clean Break) and Sydney Kondruss (The Drownsman).
Regarding Risk, Andrews says; “The Soska’s film American Mary was arguably the biggest indie film of last year and Tristan Risk’s character ‘Beatrice’ was a stand out performance. The character was so unique and interesting. Risk played it perfectly, and to have a talent like her bringing her edge and attitude to Save Yourself is truly exciting.

Halloween is my favourite time of year, and so while we don’t normally post trailers for short films (sorry but there is only so much time in a day), I couldn’t resist passing up the opportunity to promote the latest short from Canadian filmmaker Marc Roussel. According to Twitch, Roussel is putting the final buff and polish on his latest film, but so far it is looking spectacular. The film follows four young trick-or-treaters who set out on a door-to-door adventure during what seems to be a post-apocalyptic setting. Adapted from the comic by Mark Thibodeau, The Last Halloween stars Ron Basch, Emily Alatalo, Julian Richings, Angela Besharah, Brendan Heard, Drew Davis, Jake Goodman, Zoe Fraser, Kritty Uranowski, Adrian Griffiths, Alastair Forbes, and Ali Adatia. Watch the teaser below. Enjoy!

Because you never know which Halloween may be your last.Toronto based director Marc Roussel is putting the final buff and polish on his latest short film, The Last Halloween, and the first teaser has arrived for what looks to be a spooky good time in the spirit of films like The Monster Squad. Four young trick-or-treaters set out on a door-to-door adventure - making their way from house to house, collecting strange treats as they go - that could very well end up being... the Last Halloween!Adapted from the comic by Mark Thibodeau, The Last Halloween stars Ron Basch, Emily Alatalo, Julian Richings, Angela Besharah, Brendan Heard, Drew Davis, Jake...
