Known for their bus-stop advertising systems, and their billboards, among many other things, JCDecaux Group, a multinational corporation based in Neuilly-sur-Seine near Paris, France, enlisted the help of twelve directors to promote the "Un matin partout dans le monde" advertisement campaign. Including
Roy Andersson,
Francis Ford Coppola,
Wim Wenders, and
David Lynch, to name a few, each filmmaker contributed a seven-second segment portraying what it is like at exactly 5:30 A.M. in twelve major cities around the world, showcasing the products of JCDecaux Group. The segment of director
David Lynch was filmed in Los Angeles.
