"Streamline" proves indie films can be meaningful too

Director Dan Marcus shows us that he's ready for the "big leagues" with his newest short film, Streamline. The film has beautiful cinematography, musical score, is even edited smoothly. But sadly where the film falls a little short is in the visual effects and acting. For an independent film, it seems to have been rushed out of production a little prematurely. Why? I can not say. Some CGI near the end of the film seems to pop out a little too much, removing the audience from what is really a masterful story with deep emotional meaning. And the acting, most notably from the lead actor Joel Reitsma seems almost inexplicably contemptuous. Cheryl Graeff's performance as Dr. Gettler is the standout hit of the film. All in all, Streamline is a really great film. It just could have been a little better, visually.

It is one of profound useful films about reconciliation with the past. At the first sight, a Sci. Fi. In essence , a realistic portrait about traumas of a man and his son after a too painful loss.

Sure, it is far to me perfect but, in this case, the message is more important than the technology intervention or acting itself.

It is just wise crafted and the truth confessed by the main character is an essential one.
