German doctor Wilhelm Krüger is missing since his taxi caught fire after a crash in the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. His daughter Annie, a Bavarian school teacher, comes search for him. On the flight, she arouses the gallant interest of Arun Singh, immensely wealthy son of the late maharajah and his European wife Maritha. She prefers trying to pay her own way, which goes poorly, despite most helpful rickshaw driver Karan, a pariah, but Wilhelm's eminent address book ends up leading to Jaipur palace. Arun personally helps pursuing her quest for the relief NGO Wilhelm never tell her working for while raising funds. Arun also wants Karan out of the way, which his lifelong closest servant Omprakash handles, with police inspector Ganesh Gupta, in a beastly way.

She refuses to return home and starts digging into the mysteries of father's magnates list and missing children. The gallant prince Arun Sing isn't daunted by her ingratitude, even betrays having arranged for 'rival' rickshaw driver Karan, a pariah, being thrown in jail and helps free him trough police inspector Ganesh Gupta after finding there the trace of the midwife's cripple brother seer Minou-Minou.
