Entertaining Look at Cutting The Burning
Slash & Cut with Jack Sholder (2013)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Highly entertaining featurette that can be found on the Shout Factory! Blu-ray release of THE BURNING. This interview is with the editor Jack Sholder who talks about a wide range of subjects including how he got his start as an editor, which was with New Line cutting down trailers from Japan and Italy. From here he talks about the production of THE BURNING and includes stories of the director, Tom Savini and what it was like when the producers overtook the cutting room and left the director out. All in all this is a very entertaining featurette that has Sholder talking about some fun subjects including how this movie helped him re-write his screenplay for ALONE IN THE DARK. Fans of the film are certainly going to want to check this out.
