This TV episode begins with a group of gamblers being cheated by a lady. However, before they can kick her butt, she announces that her boyfriend is Zatoichi...and apparently the folks in this town know that means they'll get their butts kicked (and then some) so they leave her alone. But this guy ain't Zatoichi...and guess who just happens to wander into town...the REAL Zatoichi. However, instead of kicking their butts for the ruse, Zatoichi cozies up to them and learns exactly what sorts of people they are. Kobuichi, it turns out, is just an idiotic and untalented blind guy. His girlfriend, on the other hand, is evil and not surprisingly Zatoichi realizes this very quickly. But Kobuichi is a fool in love. What's next? Give it a look.
This is a very good and somewhat comical episode of the series. I especially appreciate the novelty of the plot--something that makes this a bit better than the usual episode.
