“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” isn’t the only reason Mark Hamill is making headlines right now. The actor behind Luke Skywalker got into a brief and heated argument with Ted Cruz on Twitter over the FCC’s decision to repeal net neutrality, and it ended with Hamill making the ultimate diss.

The actor originally tweeted in favor of net neutrality, to which Cruz responded, “Luke, I know Hollywood can be confusing, but it was Vader who supported [government] power over everything said & done on the Internet. That’s why giant corps (Google, Facebook, Netflix) supported the FCC power grab of net neutrality. Reject the dark side: Free the net!”

We talk to director Ridley Scott about Blade Runner 2049, the lasting influence of the 1982 original, ancient aliens, flutes, and more...
It's mid-September, and a rug-thick layer of secrecy lies over Blade Runner 2049, the belated sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 classic. Before our interview with Scott, who executive produces, we're shown approximately half an hour of footage: Ryan Gosling trudging moodily through futuristic landscapes as a new Replicant hunter, K; glimpses of Jared Leto as a new creator of artificial life, named Niander Wallace.
See related Bunny And The Bull interview with Paul King, Simon Farnaby and Edward Hogg Brendan Gleeson interview: The Guard, Don Cheadle, Crocodile Dundee and more
Directed by Denis Villeneuve (Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival), Blade Runner 2049 looks spectacular, with the same measured, ethereal pace that made the original film such a masterpiece. Exactly what K's mission is - and how it ties...

Taylor Swift took the stand on Thursday during day four of her legal battle against ex-radio host David Mueller, and testified that Mueller "grabbed [onto her] a** cheek" during a meet-and-greet in Denver, Colorado, in June 2013.
Mueller has denied the accusations and sued Swift in September 2015 -- two years after the alleged incident -- claiming her accusations that he inappropriately touched her were false, and cost him his $150,000-a-year job as a host at country station Kygo-fm as well as future career opportunities. She countersued him one month later for assault and battery.
The 27-year-old singer took the stand for an hour, wearing a colorful floral dress, and appeared to be in good spirits prior to being questioned by Mueller's attorney. During her testimony, Swift seemed very confident, and was attentive and articulate in her answers as her brother, Austin, and her father, Scott, sat in the front row.

Hollywood seems hell-bent on de-aging its stars. We look at what this really says about the blockbuster ecosystem.
Oh, Ridley. Every time director Ridley Scott seems to be making headway with his audiences — where people start believing that maybe 2012’s Prometheus might not actually be the kiss of death for the Alien franchise we all feared — he has to go and say something that turns the dial back to zero. Earlier this week, an excerpt from Empire Magazine’s feature on Alien: Covenant included one particularly disheartening tidbit: Scott was not necessarily ruling out the decision to digitally de-age Sigourney Weaver in future films in the franchise. And while some might consider this simply wild speculation on the part of Scott, his colleague, or the magazine, there’s enough smoke here that we should probably address this head on: digital de-aging isn’t necessarily a bad technique, it’s just a terribly unimaginative one.

We've known for awhile that Activision was planning on developing a Call of Duty film franchise. They announced their initial plans about a year ago and we haven't had any updates since. Now today we've learned that they've been developing something big for the property. According to Activision Blizzard Studios co-presidents Stacey Sher (Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight ) and Nick Van Dyk, they plan on building a Call fo Duty cinematic universe. This is obviously inspired by the formula that Marvel has found success in with their own movies and TV shows.
While speaking with The Guardian, Sher revealed that they have long-term plans in place for the property that will encompass both movies and TV series. She explains:
“We have plotted out many years. We put together this group of writers to talk about where we were going. There’ll be a film that feels more like Black Ops,...

As half the duo who created the now-defunct comedy series “Key & Peele,” Keegan-Michael Key knows a lot about being funny. Perhaps just as notably, neither he nor longtime collaborator Jordan Peele will let themselves be defined by it.
While the pair co-wrote and starred in last year’s missing-cat romp “Keanu,” their more recent work shows considerable effort to work outside the confines of comedy. Peele recently made his directorial debut with the wildly successful racially themed horror film “Get Out,” and Key has cast a wide net with his acting gigs. Last year, he had a major role in Mike Birbiglia’s ensemble piece about an improv troupe, “Don’t Think Twice,” and he’s currently shooting Shane Black’s big-budget reboot “The Predator.” This month, he’ll surface in “Win It All,” Joe Swanberg’s latest effort, which is produced by Netflix and will premiere at the SXSW...
