In the course of filming, a lunch cart filled with sandwiches, pie, cake and other eatables, was at the company's studio and soon to be used in the short. Assistant Director Henry East was assigned to guard it when an urgent phone call came, and East left the cart unattended. Several teens working at the studio grabbed most of the items just as East returned. He saw the teens running away but did not report them. Instead, he replenished the cart with food from a nearby cafeteria and the scene was shot.
Assistant Director Henry East would later become one of Hollywood's most famous and successful dog trainers, and his kennel was managed by himself and the star of this short, Gale Henry, who married East shortly after the 1926 death of her husband, director of the short, Bruno C. Becker, who was referred to as Bruno J. Becker in a Los Angeles Herald article on the incident.
