The best scientifically backed natural disaster series on offer 10/10

Warning: Spoilers
So you read the title, now prepare yourself for one the best short series based on highly unlikely but possible apocalyptic events, pieced together with beautifully created cgi cut scenes; depicting carved up zombie riddled landscapes, Engineered dams to survive sea levels beyond comprehension where Milan is the last standing city of man, Earth below absolute 0ºc, jaw dropping outer space cinematic events including bird's eye perspective plane and helicopter shots, at times it can feel like an action movie. All of these are backed up by experts in various fields of science & engineering. The series real footage and artificially created news articles adding sinister realism (the producers clearly wanted . Viewers are made aware the series contains disturbing images, it certainly is not for the faint hearted.

It really puts us in our place. Allowing us to reflect on the intricacy of nature, I particularly enjoyed the way it wasn't based around mans mistakes but rather things we could never prevent but genuinely could happen, it shows us how the human race could go back to the stone age in weeks, many of us would perish but we would not give up, and this struggle survival is fantastically displayed throughout. "How to Survive The End Of the World" is, simply put... a master piece."

"So maybe you are thinking "it's all doom and gloom" if not then what are you still reading for? Let's remember these scenarios have a very small chance of happening, ironically in some cases more likely than life(scientific perspective based on probability.)"

This is both fascinating and hilarious

Warning: Spoilers
My favorite part is probably that there are like... 30 scientists who they interviewed for this series. Maybe 10 know the premise of the show. The other 20 are sitting there wondering why they're answering these questions. Then, they see the show run that includes their interviews spliced with fake news stories. They're now suing people.

Real science. Real. Science. About end-of-the-world-theory. This is the best thing that has been on my TV in a great long while. Not since "Titaniboa: Monster Snake," by the Smithsonian Channel, have I loved a science documentary so much.

I die.

Effective Analysis
barrybbryson5 September 2022
This series has consistent and effective analysis of different methods of potential major issues. Each episode covers different potential events and approaches for handling each of the challenges set forth. I fond each episode very descriptive and insightful. Zombie earth covered the concept of a an infectious disease really turning humanity into a race of vicious, seething monsters. Hell on Earth covers a directly hit by a primordial black hole. Showing that the strike is so immense that it generates a colossal shockwave, disturbing the magma beneath every existing volcanic system. Frozen Earth examines how the Earth would end if a catastrophic dark matter event in the solar system caused the planet to slowly move away from the Sun. Each episode is astute in its evaluation of how major problems could be addressed by effective responses from humanity.

Navel gazing twaddle
bruce-bowenisland-com6 February 2014
Some people seem to think it is imperative to come up with every possible negative scenario in life and then throw it at a screen as if it is imminent. This show is another of those. I just read the description of one of the episodes and all I can ask is "WHY?". The science is pop-science and fails to recognize that 1) the likelihood and existence of the initial event is being re-investigated as we watch by its original proponent, and 2)If the initial event were to occur as currently understood then the secondary event would be entirely moot. The earth would have ceased to exist long before the secondary event ( to which most of the program is devoted)could happen.

One thing is certain at this point in our development; We will all die from something. Don't waste your time listening to navel gazing, hand wringing Middle Eastern twaddle and you just may start to enjoy life a bit more. It's an important concept as all our times are limited!
