"Next Big Thing" is an American 16-minute live action short film from 2010, so not a really old or new movie. Director Henrik Sundgren and writer Justin Britt Gibson are not known to me at all, but looking at their bodies of work, this is not too surprising. The star is of course Justin Timberlake playing the male lead while his female co-lead Dania Ramirez is not unknown either, even if I never came across her in any other project that I remember. So I am not big on action films, don't like JT a lot and don't know Ramirez. You can imagine the outcome. I was not impressed by this work I have to say. The final plot twist does as little as everything before that including the action-packed moments and the (not so) subtle shots at comedy that involve an Asian guy on one occasion in particular here. This is about guns and cars, so the crime genre component is also very valid, but not well-executed either. All in all, this over-long Audi commercial is nowhere near the finest from the somewhat defining BMW series when it comes to car commercial movies. This is really only worth checking out for the very biggest Timberlake fanatics. Everybody else will be as underwhelmed as myself. Kinda surprised by the high rating here. I give it a thumbs-down. Don't watch.
