This is the second episode to feature one of the Arquette acting siblings. Rosanna Arquette appears here, while her sister Patricia Arquette was in episode Dreams Deferred (2012).
While searching for an abducted child, Fin recognizes a suspect's address (1 East 161st Street in the Bronx) as Yankee Stadium. This is likely a reference to The Blues Brothers (1980), in which Elwood Blues listed his address on his driver's license renewal as 1060 West Addison Street, the address of Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs.
Since at least 2010 most states in the United States offer natural human insulin without a prescription, but it still must be dispensed by a licensed pharmacist, also known as "behind the counter" medication. However all forms of synthetic insulin, and the short/intermediate natural/synthetic combination insulin are only available by prescription from a licensed physician.
The episode title, "Wednesday's Child", is taken from a Broadway play, and a film (both 1934) of the same name. That title in turn is taken from the 1838 poem "Monday's Child", about children's moods based on days of the week. The line for the title is read as "Wednesday's child is full of woe". This is also where Wednesday Addams name, of the Addams Family, originated in 1944.
Pablo Schreiber & Constance Shulman, costars in Orange Is the New Black (2013), both appear in this episode.
