This week's "Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," the third film based on the young adult book series by Suzanne Collins, is ridiculously anticipated. Part of it is finding out what the resolution will be for the cliffhanger that ended the last film, last year's sleek "Hunger Games: Catching Fire," another part of it is getting to watch one of the last performances by the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman (who was almost done with his role when overdosing earlier this year), but most of it has to do with the characters that audiences have grown to love -- and the actors who inhabit those characters.
We were invited to the press conference over the weekend, where just about everybody was in attendance (Willow Shields, Geoffrey Wright, Julianne Moore, Donald Sutherland, Natalie Dormer, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Sam Claflin and, of course, Jennifer Lawrence), and got the inside skinny on the film from the stars themselves.

In this week’s episode of American Horror Story: Freak Show, Stanley was determined to make a killing by selling Jimmy’s claws, Paul the Illustrated Seal got himself added to Elsa’s hit list, Ethel threatened to do away with Elsa, and Dandy aimed to make missuses of Dot and Bette. But who — if anyone — was struck in the titular “Bullseye” painted on them? Read on and find out!
Wheel Of Misfortune | As this installment began, birthday girl Elsa had her spinning wheel moved into the big tent and imagined throwing knives at half the freaks to practice for her TV show.

Thinking back to Ryan Taylor’s recovery period, and the games the club put on behind closed doors to help him claw some fitness back after two years of inactivity, it was a smart move by all associated with organising them.
But, what probably wasn’t a smart move, and what the club will probably be less inclined to publicise openly, is that those Behind Closed Doors games were only closed to the public. They were open to scouts from other clubs.
And unfortunately – inevitably – Man City had a scout at at least one of those games (not necessarily one of the games set up for Taylor specifically, but one in the not too distant past), because they’ve got their eyes on one of Newcastle’s talents.
No prizes for guessing that the man in question is Rolando Aarons, whose blistering Premier...

Ingmar Bergman bowed down to his peer, Andrei Tarkovsky, for having given life to the language of cinema as dream: “Tarkovsky is for me the greatest, the one who invented a new language, true to the nature of film, as it captures life as reflection, life as a dream.” This praise from one master to another was more than warranted, for the two auteurs’ bodies of work are arguably the most distinguishable in the canon of film history for their use of moving imagery, intricate mise-en-scène, and meaning that arises not only once in the frame or from an actor’s mouth but that ripples throughout the remainder of the world of the movie. Hey now, this is what dreams are made of.
In the pond’s crystal clear reflection of our reality that is the cinema, there are also the murky patches. Both Bergman and Tarkovsky oftentimes forayed down...

There’s #onelove in Shondaland. One steamy, steamy love.
If you don’t like the sex that’s happening on Shonda Rhimes shows, turn the damn channel.
Because the brains behind Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal and the executive producer of How to Get Away With Murder isn’t going to censor herself for you. She’s especially not having it if you have issues with the “gay scenes” on her shows.
That much she made clear on Twitter over the weekend:
. @Dabdelhakiem There are no Gay scenes. There are scenes with people in them.
— shonda rhimes (@shondarhimes) October 19, 2014
@Dabdelhakiem If you are suddenly discovering that Shondaland shows have scenes involving people who are gay, you are Late To The Party.
— shonda rhimes (@shondarhimes) October 19, 2014
. @Dabdelhakiem If u use the phrase "gay scenes", u are not only Late to the party but also Not Invited to the party. Bye Felicia. #oneLOVE

In a rare deal for a third-party format, Talpa Global will partner with Israel’s A Cappella to handle the worldwide distribution rights to game show The Big Picture. Created by TV host and mentalist Nimrod Harel and A Cappella, The Big Picture sees studio contestants given a shot at winning $1M by correctly answering 12 picture-based questions. If the studio player is unsure, they can enlist help from a connected viewer playing along in real time with the Big Picture app. At that moment, the connected player will have their image projected on the TV screen, play along via the technology and also have a shot at winning a substantial amount of the studio player’s total prize money. A budget of $1M went toward developing and producing an English-language Big Picture pilot, which A Cappella’s Einat Shamir and Tal Shaked shopped at Mip-tv in April.

Little Milton (born Milton James Campbell on September 7, 1934 in Inverness, Mississippi; his father was Big Milton) came up singing the blues and by the '70s had moved into hardcore soul. He was a master of both styles.
In 1953 Ike Turner recruited Milton for the legendary Sun Records. His Sun singles didn't achieve success, and he spent subsequent years hopping from label to label until he started a label, Bobbin, with a St. Louis DJ. When they had a falling out, Little Milton moved to the Chess subsidiary Checker (which had been distributing Bobbin), even bringing at least one track recorded for Bobbin. Soon Milton branched out from performing to producing and managing other performers, and also gained his first hit (on the R&B chart) in 1962, "Mean to Me."
This period of Little Milton's career is well covered on the 16-song Chess CD Greatest Hits in the label's 50th Anniversary Collection series.
