- Following humiliation at the hands of his great rival during the snooker world finals, the once great Bobby Stevens is now scratching a living doing trick shots on the cabaret circuit. He finds himself performing at a holiday park and it is there that he meets Sophie, a 10 year old tear-away who; through afternoons at the arcade, catching crabs off the sea wall and generally running amok, teaches Bobby to once again play for fun. To enjoy the game once more. So when his nemesis, tired of beating the same old players, returns and gives Bobby one last chance at redemption he finds himself training for the Jimmy White Invitational Cup. Can Bobby overcome his opponent, his fears and more importantly himself to once again be declared champion?
