Deep in my heart...

So I've come to learn that I'm the type of person that feels rather than thinks when it comes to movies and works of this nature. And this very special short film I loved very much, because it got me doing plenty of both! To look at it's not really much of anything, it's just an ensemble of actors on a plain sort of a stage engaging in your average community theatre rehearsal. Visually it's not much at all and I was a bit put off by that at first, but the true idea and theme behind it is much deeper and profound than it first seems, and when I understood what it was all meant to convey I very much got into it and by the end I found the whole point to be quite powerfully uplifting. It's about a girl, she's the centre of attention on a surreal stage, talking to one person after another who each represent a specific emotion or state of her life - fear, anger, childhood(innocence perhaps), love and finally acceptance. And the actors are all playing up to these states of behavior, like anger is presented as a very scary threatening man and so forth.. And they all have a kind of psychological discussion/debate about all of the paths her life could take were she to give in to and allow one of these key emotional states, which combined really do form a big part of what makes all of us who and what we are, to take over her life. It starts with anger who rants at her of hate, then fear who speaks to her of doubt and how she can never really trust anybody but herself. Her inner-child tells her of how she's forgotten her own joy and dreams, and there is that which everybody desires most of all in all that is, in their heart of hearts, the eternal paradox of sublime beauty and sublime pain that is love, who warmly reminds her that although she may doubt it exists and might not always feel it, it's still there, forever offering unconditional comfort, somewhere distant or silent, but always waiting to be found and ultimately rising above all... And then lastly she comes to a kind of inner peace as she meets acceptance who tells her that although sometimes overwhelming, emotions are just a part of being human and that it's best to just try and take things as they come and go with the flow instead of being consumed by negativity and self-doubt. I thought that in its own way this was a pretty great little estimation of the human condition and life in general. What love had to say as the short reached its conclusion made me get a little misty-eyed. Let us all keep wishing eh.. Wow just an amazing short film, not like any I'd ever seen before and I found it to be an excellently put together little piece of work. Cheers. Peace 'n love!!!
