"Like Hope" explores the notion of how a moment in time can freeze one's state of living in sometimes a haunting way, through the story of Harry, a Chinese foreign-exchange student in America who falls in love with his good friend Timothy. One night, Harry asks Timothy whether he likes him romantically, but Timothy merely wants to stay friends. They continue to hang out with each other as Harry's heart stays stuck in the few seconds before he asked and received the answer to Timothy's feelings for him, the moment in which he still felt hopeful, the few seconds where love still seemed possible.
