During the shoot-out scene, Murdoch confronts one of the outlaws in the apparent hay loft. Next they both come crashing through the wall of the loft and the slow-motion shot shows them falling to the ground with Murdoch's hat flying by itself, not on Murdoch's head. However, when they are aroused following the fall, Murdoch has his hat close at hand, and he properly places it on his head.
Murdoch says here that Mrs. Kitchen, who runs the boarding house where he lives, is a "fine cook" who makes the best beef stew he's ever tasted. However, in season 3's Convalescence (2009), he says Mrs. Kitchen is "a wonderful woman, but a cook she is not," as he declines to eat some food she brings to him.
After outdrawing and shooting the villain, Bat Masterson cocks his revolver and aims it at the villain again. After a short speech he lowers the hammer and holsters the revolver. Masterson carried a Colt .45 single action Army revolver, and as someone familiar with the weapon he would not carry with the hammer on a loaded cylinder for fear of accidental discharge.
