Incorrectly Regarded as Goof - Opening the visor of an EV suit while out in space, even for a second, would be fatal. All the air in the suit would be vented in less then a second, this is known as explosive decompression. The sudden pressure drop would cause all the capillaries on your face to burst, and your skin and eyes would flash freeze. - There are recorded instances of a person being exposed to high vacuum without serious injury, a person would not instantly freeze on exposure, as the vacuum of space is a poor conductor of heat. Opening a visor for a few seconds would not cause instant death.
