Non-starter with some of the worst attempts at accents ever

Warning: Spoilers
CLEAVER: RISE OF THE KILLER CLOWN sounds like it will be a slasher movie about a killer clown, perhaps along the same lines as other shot-on-video tat like the KILLJOY or CAMP BLOOD movies. No such luck. Instead this is an arty, filmed-in-some-guy's-apartment piece of nonsense in which very little happens indeed and the titular character is a mere afterthought.

The main thing you take away from this movie is that it was filmed with some weird filter in which every scene is saturated and dominated by bright primary colours in the background. It's distracting to say the least, but perhaps you need that distraction given that the narrative is so lifeless. The unwise decision was made to have the British cast members attempt American accents, which sounded wrong even to this British ear, so as a fellow Brit I can only apologise for that.

We'll have pandemonium

Warning: Spoilers
Clue (Or Mr. Ree for us older folks) plot spoiler: The clown with the cleaver in the bedroom. That is pretty much it. The acting was sad. Jimi James who played Sheriff Hatcher was note worthy bad as his monotone line reading was in the "so bad it is good" category. Likewise the special effects were very amateur. Two cleaver shots to the middle of the skull and the girl is still screaming. The cleaver was visibly dull too. The clown escapes from the police by lumbering out the kitchen door as the police can't hit him from 10 feet away and they don't chase him. How fast can an old fat man go in a clown suit? Camera angles could have been better. Everyone seems to put a red light in their hallway whenever the clown shows up. Babysitter watching "Night of the Living Dead" on Halloween night...WOW! How original was that? And the clown wasn't really that scary. Worse than the "Camp Blood" series...at least the first three. Did the Oklahoma killer have a bit of a British accent? The small town bars in Oklahoma generally have salt shakers on them so clients can put salt in their beer...at least back in the 1980's.

Guide: F-word. Sex. No nudity.

Last Sunday, I decided to start my travels through the anals of AmazOn Prime USA. It was here that I happened upon this Bava-esque classic.

Straight off, its definitely a Halloween 'inspired' movie, its wears it on its sleeve and that means that I BLOODY loved it. If you're gonna use a film as a template then use the best huh?

The coloured lighting gels used in the film add a surreal quality to a very contained story that combines Seven with IT via John Carpenters Classic.

Its just out and out ballsy movie creation, and It deserves top marks for effort.

Pure Halloween style goodness

This was very cool, the colors and story were very reminding of old style horror movies that I grew up with.

I loved the clown make up and the lead girls were very good, GREAT fun for late night horror fans.
