Fresh, different, opening a new chapter
robin-587-41950613 January 2015
The trilogy is over - and the result is pretty impressive. While Ep. 4.10 was slow-paced with a lot of nice set-up, 4.11 turned out as the best episode so far. POI's trilogy is a must-watch.

Since this is a spoiler free review, I'm having trouble describing why I enjoyed the episode but I'll give my best.

To me, 4.12 was fully satisfying. "Control-Alt-Delete" indicated where this episode was going and they did it well. I'm not going into detail here - but they worked on some spots in their universe that needed attention while continuing the big plot that drives this trilogy. There's a lot to discover in the details, dialog and character expressions.

If you were expecting an episode in 3.10 The Devil's Share style, you might be a little disappointed. It is more like in 2.16 Relevance style, which I personally enjoyed very much. If you open your mind and like it when they change narrative for a while, you'll probably end up loving it (especially if you have and had so many burning questions about the many plot threads going on - they're finally fleshing out this world in the Samaritan era. It's actually pretty disturbing in a positive way).

To sum it up, this episode ended the trilogy in an intriguing way and prepared the board for the rest of the season. As always, they had an especially nice "final scene".

Person of Interest remains incredibly strong in all areas and I'm definitely looking forward to Episode 4.13 on February 3rd 2015.

And Jonah has recreated The Prestige here
jayant-121213 January 2015
Every magic has three parts and this one was the Prestige. The POI team was defeated badly in the last two episodes and with the departure of a lead character for the foreseeable future, the episode had to conjure some magic back to bring where we were at the beginning of the season: HOPE. And that's The Prestige part.

The episode has done a marvelous job in restoring the hope for team machine, to tackle their mean and ruthless adversaries. The writers deserve credit for keeping the audience guessing about future of team machine. The people which constitute the team may get lost as we have seen repeatedly, and new characters can join the gang with ease because of the lucid way the writers have knit the story lines. Hell, the day isn't far when Casey, Greenfield return as well.

I am eagerly waiting for the next episode on Feb 3, 2015. And it is gonna be a long long wait.

The Fate of Winners of the Nautilus Game
claudio_carvalho7 March 2024
In Detroit, the Secret Service is ready to eliminate four software engineers identified as a terrorist cell located by the Samaritan waiting for Control's order. She authorizes the killings but only three are murdered; the fourth is not in the house. She asks to see the HD of his computer but Samaritan denies the access. She asks Samaritan's representative Travers to give access to her, but he shuts down Samaritan. She feels excluded from the process of finding relevant numbers. Meanwhile, Reese and Root are looking for Shaw, and they kidnap Control to know the whereabouts of their friend. Reese, Root and Finch interrogate Control and see that she is not aware of the dangers and the steps of the Samaritan.

"Control-Alt-Delete" is an episode of "Person of Interest" based on Control's viewpoint of Samaritan and hunting down relevant numbers. She proves that she is following orders and only now she begins to question Samaritan. The fate of the winners of the Nautilus Challenge game is shown, based on the statement of Yasin Said. Samaritan targets his friends and him as terrorists using their stereotypes. My vote is nine.

Subtle and Interesting

Warning: Spoilers
I liked this episode. Its not what you expect after the amazing "If-Then-Else". This wasn't an end of trilogy but rather setting the stage for the next half of the season. And we get to know what goes on the other side of the POI Mythos, the relevant side and it is being kicked around by Samaritan badly. Control and Senator Garrison are finally suffering for working with (more for) Samaritan. You reap what you sow. Blind faith is always dangerous. Only the Paranoid survive.

The only backside is, we see the team machine very less. So many people might be disappointed that they don't get to know whether Shaw is alive or dead, but for me I am happy to leave that thread hanging. The emotional side due to this constant pain, adds another layer to Amy Acker's portrayal of Root which is amazing as usual. Overall a nice set-up episode and what can I say, I never felt bored even for a second.
