Tim Harrison collects his son from home for their weekly Wednesday date. The boy says:
"That's Cygnus X-1. Right?"
At the end of the conversation, the son and the camera looks up at a big full moon. Stars are unlikely to be visible in a moonlit sky.
Tim Harrison collects his son from home for their weekly Wednesday date. The boy says:
"That's Cygnus X-1. Right?"
While pointing into the sky. That star is not visible to the unaided eye.
Stella says:
"Drive faster."
Tim looks down (is he trying to find the gas pedal?) Then the camera looks at his foot pressing down on the pedal. No driver needs to find a gas pedal that s/he has his/her foot on.
Tim Harrison examines Julia's work/calculations and runs a computer program to emulate the asteroid's path. He fast forwards the flight of the comet BUT there is not a corresponding increase in the speed of the rotation of the Earth.
In the opening minutes, Tim Harrison leaves work. On arriving at his home he brakes and we hear the squeal of tyres on the road. However, we do not see a corresponding slide of the wheels along the road.
At 43:43, Tim tells that he need to get gas filled in the car. He was the first one, apart from Julia, to know about possible impact, and he passed on the information for Herbert's cross check, he should have prepared for the worst case scenario and made all arrangement for sudden departure to a safe location. He should be one who should have been believing by heart in the possibility of an impact.
