On the one hand, 'The Trash and the Snake' feels like one of Justified's lower-key episode, but there's a lot of moving parts to this.
Jake Busey, making the most of a short-live guest shot
Art reappearing for a heavyweight heart-to-heart with Raylan
Dickie Bennett and Loretta McCready blowing back in (and put to good use)
Expanded use of Mary Steenburgen who commands a great deal of this episode as the next person in line to use Ava to her advantage; the latter of whom now pulled in even more directions.
All of this, with assured writing and direction make for an amazing hour of TV.
9/10
