Billed as a vampire comedy, Don’t Suck is the story of Pete, a burnt-out comedian who’s spent too much time chasing fame on the standup circuit. He’s finally managed to go viral, but it’s from using the C word on a cashier while trying to be funny. However, he and comedy club owner Danny dismiss it as her fault for being too easily offended.
That’s followed by Pete approvingly referring to Danny “Weinstiening” the students in his comedy class and boasting about being part of the mob that stormed the Capitol. That should give you an idea of where Don’t Suck is coming from, what kind of jokes to expect and whether or not to cut your losses and bail now.

Arrow in the Head’s John Fallon recently teamed up with Kevin Interdonato of City on a Hill and the indie hit Bad Frank (review here) for a hardcore thriller called Braek – and now a sales trailer has arrived in preparation for its screening at the upcoming European Film Market (details below). Check it out in the embed above!
Fallon directed the film from a screenplay he wrote with Interdonato, who also stars as the film’s nemesis Jesse. Interdonato is joined by Nick Baillie (Taken), Melissa Anschutz (Best Years Gone) and Alix Lane (Black Pumpkin). Danilo Rocha (Sick Minded), and Fallon himself co star.
The story centers on: The McCabe family’s weekend getaway was never meant to be a life-changing experience. Governor William McCabe (Baillie), a respected politician, was looking forward to some rest and relaxation. His beautiful wife Lauren (Anschutz) and distant stepdaughter Erin (Lane) strain to enjoy their time together,...

The Legend of Fall Creek is the sequel to the 2016 movie Bloody Bobby, a film I suspect not many people were desperate to see a sequel for – mainly because not many people will have seen it. This is actually the third movie in the trilogy (Black Pumpkin was number two) but it is not essential to see the previous entries.
Knowing the killer in the movie was called Bloody Bobby didn’t give me high hopes. I’ve been trying to think a worst name for a horror movie villain but I can’t think of one. It’s not scary or menacing in the slightest, surely the writer could have thought of something better. But if the killer looked cool,...

Actual great horror movies with a Halloween theme and Halloween as there main focus aren’t actually as widespread as you might expect. Obviously the Halloween franchise has some great editions, Trick ‘r Treat and Tales of Halloween are fantastic anthologies but there’s not a whole lot else. Black Pumpkin, as its title suggests, is indeed set during Halloween season and as a Halloween-themed killer, so could it kick off a new holiday-themed franchise?
Two kids accidentally awaken an evil that has lain dormant for a number of years. The terribly named ‘Bloody Bobby’ is now after them and their family and friends and they spend October 31st trying to survive through the night.

For this Tuesday, we don’t have a ton of Blu-ray and DVD releases on tap this week, but we do have some incredible titles coming out, once again proving that it’s quality over quantity. If you haven’t had a chance to see it just yet, Brandon Cronenberg’s Possessor Uncut arrives on Tuesday on multiple formats, and coincidentally enough, Total Recall is getting a 30th anniversary 4K release this week, too, and the films pair extremely well for a double feature.
Other films headed home on December 8th include She Dies Tomorrow, Smiley Face Killers, a 2-Disc Special Edition release for Versus from Ryûhei Kitamura, Black Pumpkin, The Facility, and Sympathy.
Possessor Uncut
From the visionary mind of writer/director Brandon Cronenberg, Possessor is an arresting sci-fi thriller about elite corporate assassin Tasya Vos. Using brain-implant technology, Vos takes control of other people s bodies to execute high-profile targets.

A Halloween film coming out two months late, Black Pumpkin is a welcome splash of colour in the 2020 festive season, a slice of playful Eighties style horror that ticks all the right boxes. Directed with verve and energy by newcomer Ryan McGonagle, it tells a tale of teens in peril as the urban legend of Bloody Bobby turns out to be rooted in a terrifying reality.
It's a film that will see many horror fans blaming the parents. If you call your daughters Laurie and Regan, what do you expect? None of it is their fault, of course. It#s their brother Elliot (Dogen Eyeler) and his best friend, Pork Chop (Grayson Thorne Kilpatrick), who go wandering in the woods where they shouldn't, making a film about an area said to be cursed - and the two older boys who like to bully them who make trouble there. As soon as.

If the phrase "living in a van down by the river" brings a smile to your face, then you're likely a fan of the late comedian extraordinaire Chris Farley and his iconic motivational speaker character from Saturday Night Live.
