VR meets matrix
petersjoelen9 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
An interesting mix of virtual reality and celebrity status through social media.

The main character is a young woman who seems to live completely in a kind of virtual reality world, 1 room from which she cannot leave and almost constantly online with cameras that follow her everywhere.

Likes and attention online completely dominate her life and she never leaves her room, then something strange happens that causes her to leave her room.

Here the story takes a kind of matrix-like turn, causing her to become so upset that all her followers drop her instantly.

Suddenly her room turns out to be a prison.

The matrix plot makes the story interesting, but it is not enough to really do anything with it.

Effects are nicely done.

An exquisit and insightful work.

Brilliant all round, acting, camera, lighting, sound, CG,.. All as perfect as they could be. Mashes together some familiar themes as commentary on how pervasive social media has become, and drawing the viewer along with an instant emotional connection to the lead characters needs and desires. More story is said through Ms Edgley's expressions and body language then most films have in their dialog. A "Must Watch".
