- The music video for "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus.
- An accompanying music video for "Wrecking Ball" was directed by Terry Richardson, and was premiered through Vevo on September 9, 2013. The clip features close-up footage of Cyrus emotionally singing to the camera against a white backdrop, having been inspired by the music video for "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinéad O'Connor. Interspersed throughout are scenes of Cyrus licking a sledgehammer and swinging on a wrecking ball. At first, she is shown dressed in a sleeveless shirt, panties and Doc Martens boots; as the video progresses, she is then shown wearing only the boots.—Peter-Patrick76 (peter-patrick@mail.com)
- The much-talked about, highly controversial music video by former child star of Hannah Montana (2006), Miley Cyrus. Kicking off with an extreme close-up of her face, she is tearful, and in a fragile mood. Blue eyes, bright-red lipstick, near perfect complexion. She is shown on a building site, wearing heavy Doc Martens boots, and having a particular affinity for a sledgehammer. Of which she licks the head. As she rides on the swinging wrecking ball, she, at first, wears a white cropped tank top and scant white panties. She is from there on also seen in the nude, save for the Doc Martens and her many tattoos, swinging to and fro on the giant steel ball. It can be mentioned that the nudity involved is very tasteful/almost tame, depending on your outlook. She arches her back as she rides that monstrosity, lets her head fall back, and that's about it, it's only about her enjoying herself. As she lies spent among the rubble, she does turn over once, but that rear view is panty-clad, otherwise people would really have had something to talk about...!
The sledgehammer can be seen as the symbol of her desire to vent her rage after the loss in her love-life. She wishes to tear down, just as she had been torn down. But it is a love/hate symbol, which is why she is seen 'so intimate' with it.
"I came in like a wrecking ball, I never hit so hard in love, all I wanted was to break your walls, all you ever did was wre-e-e-eck me..."
