The elections are here and Officer Thackeray is hoping everything will run smoothly in the village hall which is being used as a polling station for the general election.

Thomas has invented a contraption that indicates which party may get a swing towards them.

Margaret comes to have a look at the polling station and see how men actually vote. When a militant suffragette Betty arrives, the women are locked in and seek to escape. However pregnant Eva goes into labour.

This is a good example why Up the Women really did not take off as a comedy. It really suffered from weak writing and too often was unfunny.
