Though, Blazkowicz and his British agent partner get captured, but Blazkowicz manages to escape, but his mission to find the folder will also get him involved in Helga's plans to revive the dead, Blazkowicz must stop Helga and save the Allied cause.—John Wiggins
- A prequel story set in March 1946, the Nazis are winning the Second World War, William J. Blazkowicz of the U.S. Army is sent on an undercover mission along with Welsh agent Richard Wesley to Castle Wolfenstein in the Bavarian Alps. Their mission is to obtain a folder revealing the location of a secret compound, currently in the possession of Helga Von Schabbs of the SS Paranormal Division. Blazkowicz is advised to keep silent due to his terrible German and passes through customs, nearly getting rumbled by Helga's second, Rudi Jaeger.
The two infiltrate Castle Wolfenstein and get caught by Rudi and his super soldiers. They are thrown in prison, Blazkowicz escapes but Wesley is taken for interrogation, Blazkowicz escapes the prison to the castle keep. He finds Wesley in a wounded state, Wesley has told nothing to Rudi and tells Blazkowicz a resistance technique involving counting and breathing ("Count to four, inhale, count to four, exhale.") Rudi appears with his dog Greta, Blazkowicz is put in an electric chair and Wesley is killed, Blazkowicz breaks out of the chair, injuring Rudi and killing Greta. Blazkowicz escapes the castle and heads to the local tavern in Paderborn to meet his contacts, German resistance Jew, Ludwig Kessler and Annette. Annette is injured when the Nazis raid the tavern, Blazkowicz holds them off and fights Rudi wearing power armor, Rudi is killed and the three heroes head to the village of Wulfburg.
Once there Blazkowicz meets with English agent Pippa, she provides him information to Helga's whereabouts, namely a tavern, Blazkowicz arrives and disguises himself as a waiter and infiltrates Helga's room where she is with SS NCO Emmerich Schreiner, Helga sees the Blazkowicz disguise and nearly kills him but is interrupted by an earthquake, caused by the SS excavation team digging for the crypt of King Otto I, whom Helga is a distant relative of. The earthquake releases a green gas turning all infected into zombies, Blazkowicz witnesses Pippa turned into a zombie and is later forced to make a choice between saving Annette or Kessler.
Blazkowicz navigates the underground crypt searching for Helga where he's captured, Helga is in the inner sanctum looking for King Otto's secret buried away for centuries, she recites an incantation unearthing the secret which is giant monster, Helga commands it eat Blazkowicz but instead it attacks her and Schreiner. Blazkowicz kills the monster and takes the folder, the object of his mission from her. A cave-in knocks him out and he's saved by Fergus Reid of the RAF. Blazkowicz is taken to RAF Kinloss to prepare for his next mission...
