Noted as actress and fetish performer, Britain's Tanya Tate flunks out as director with this initial entry into her series cashing in on the current incest craze. I'll be checking out to see Part 2 soon -there's certainly plenty of room for improvement.
Tate injects herself into the action in two of the four sex vignettes, which are unrelated to each other (she has different families in her separate excursions). Each features a trio of actresses playing blood-related generational relatives or sisters, and getting it on XXX style as a threesome.
What sank this exercise for me was the very poorly improvised dialog, harking back to Andy Warhol's trailblazing '60s comedies in which his various superstars, notably Ondine, Viva and Ingrid Superstar, put each other on the spot with leading questions or odd non sequiturs that left the other person tongue-tied. Such is often the case here, with some of the actresses even looking embarrassed to be pretending that they are related to each other.
Opener has perhaps the most interesting premise, duly bungled by the cast. Zoey Monroe is a sleepwalker in the habit of getting in mommy Tanya Tate's bed at night to childishly suckle at her boobs. She's going away to college and mom is worried such behavior will get her into trouble.
Sis Aaliyah Love volunteers to be in bed with mom ready to drink at the other breast, to make Zoey comfortable when she wakes up and somehow (improvisation can lead to dead ends) this is supposed to cure her. Once the trio are full blast there is no stopping them and lesbian incest results. Campiest element here is Zoey showing up wearing huge fluffy bunny slippers.
The other segments are more perfunctory, Tate back returning to see her daughter Lilly Banks on her 18th year birthday after having split that long ago, entrusting the kid to being raised by her sister Nina Elle. Lilly's acting (shall I say non-acting) is so poor here she can hardly keep a straight face as the two older women argue about her and with each other in a vignette the SNL writing staff could have a field day with if they ever want to do a send-up of lesbian porn.
Second-worst actress honors go to low-voiced Tiffany Cane, cast as an aunt to Gianna Nicole. She and sis Bianca Breeze have a vulgar verbal fight in which poor Tiff has trouble enunciating practically anything, giving the resulting vignette a rehearsal quality. She does get talked into helping Bianca teach the young girl the art of lesbian love, after Bianca outs her as having had a lesbian affair back in college, and then the two of them "blame" their Sapphic skills on child abuse by granny when they were young (fortunately we don't have Nina Hartley or Dyanna Lauren showing up as the GILF).
If porn videos were candidates for Midnight Movie showings the way MOMMIE DEAREST and other campy pictures live on, then this misfire would arouse amusement.
