The Turn

Warning: Spoilers
This episode felt like a turning point for this season. With only a few episodes left the hopefully epic finale is almost in store for us and that means chaos. While this episode was nowhere as polished or as dramatic as the two installments last week, there was some enjoyable moments in an otherwise quiet episode.

Jarvis and Wilkes both took big steps this week as they deal with their respected tragic situations. Jarvis was on a revenge spree after nearly losing Ana and the fact that the surgery left her barren set Jarvis on even more of a crazy path. Wilkes was manipulated by Frost on multiple occasions as he then decided to go against Peggy and the crew when they rescued him. Seems to me this puts to rest any possibility of Wilkes being Peggy's future husband, especially considering Souza's fiancé is seemingly out of the picture.

Jack finally came through and turned to Peggy's side (for now) after over hearing Vernon Master's phone conversation with Whitney. Of course, there's always a possibility that his allegiances change, but I was happy to see he finally came to his senses and trusted Peggy. Plus, how great was it hearing him and Souza say "Do what Peggy said" in unison?

So as much as this episode focused on Jarvis and Ana, there was some enjoyment to be had in other areas, and in particular Jack's sub plot. Wilkes turned pretty fast against Peggy however, after all they have been through, so I hope we get cleared up on that in the next episode. Only two more to go.

Do as Peggy says!

Well, with everything falling apart, Ana shot, Wilkes kidnapped, Dottie gone, Vernon in charge of the SSR, it will be very hard for our heroes to bounce back and win. This episode they started their comeback.

First, let's start with the star of this episode, James D'Arcy. I wanted him to have a good episode and I'm really glad he could show his range, from worrying husband to vindictive hero. The fact that Ana can't have children is also very illuminating to me. Because of this, I truly believe that Jarvis was the real father figure for Tony, due to the fact that they couldn't have children of their own. I think this is reflected easily through Tony as he literally named his computerized assistant after Jarvis.

I keep loving Manfredi as he brings back some good humor to the show. Thompson gets his hand on some incriminating evidence about Carter, however, I think it is pretty obvious that it wasn't Peggy, it was her brother. They both share the same first initial and it would be smart of the writers to make it her brother. He was in the S.O.E, explains how he recommended her. So he might have faked his death to cover up his involvement in the massacre Thompson discovered. However, it was nice to see Thompson is joining back with Team Carter.

Wilkes confused me this episode though. I don't really understand why he is helping Whitney and why he threatened Carter. Also, I don't know what Vernon is doing. Like he is helping Whitney, but what is his job? He is in cahoots with the Arena Club but all he seems is like a foil for the SSR. And sure Samberly was kind of fun in his own way, but the romance between him and Rose is so forced.

+ James D'Arcy's performance + Thompson's discovery and loyalty to Carter + Manfredi - Wilkes' betrayal - Vernon - Samberly/Rose "romance"

Final Score: 7.2/10

A more than satisfying episode with very interesting twists and turns. Can't wait to see his possibly amplified powers. Some illogical points regarding science of the explosion as well as the photon rays, but they absorb well in the Scifi atmosphere of the show and episode.

This show is great! Well written and it's funny the acting is great but there are some things that are pissing me off. Jarvis being an idiot and shooting someone. Sousa giving up the uranium. Thompson being stupid and a traitor. People are not making smart decisions. They are acting idiotically.
