You can almost envision a conventional rendering of Mark Webber’s enchanting “The Place of No Words,” the writer-director’s fifth and most ambitiously scoped feature. In that scenario, the magical journey through which a three-year-old grapples with his father’s terminal illness — something he is too young to make sense of in real-world terms — would be adorned with vivid colors and on-the-nose emotions aimed at tear ducts. Conceived through a personal lens, “The Place of No Words” thankfully takes the completely opposite approach. While occasionally wearisome in its fragmented structure (and limited in its commercial appeal), Webber’s film navigates the vast notion of grief gently and with seriousness.
With its modest intentions, “The Place of No Words” loosely brings to mind David Lowery’s similarly experimental “A Ghost Story,” in a good way — which is to say, those who are patient with its deliberate shapelessness will be eventually...

The Long Song writer Sarah Williams has penned family drama Flesh and Blood for British commercial broadcaster ITV.
Williams, who also wrote 2007 Anne Hathaway feature Becoming Jane, penned the story of three adult siblings – Helen, Jake and Natalie – who are thrown into disarray when their recently widowed mother Vivien declares she’s in love with a new man.
The series is produced by Silverprint Pictures, the ITV-backed producer responsible for series including Dark Heart and Vera (pictured).
Flesh and Blood starts when their mother, nearing her 70th birthday, is swept off her feet by retired doctor Mark. Years of secrets, lies, rivalries and betrayals then come to the surface and threaten to blow apart everything they’ve held dear. With their large family home overlooking the Kent coast, their inheritance and the happy memories of their childhood all suddenly threatened by the arrival of Mark, the siblings attempt to find out more about him.

A hiatus does the body good.
The series returned and A Million Little Things Season 1 Episode 11 wasted no time jumping back into all of the mystery and intrigue that has people hooked.
That is where the series is at its strongest, and while Maggie's cancer battle was still featured prominently, and Eddie and Delilah still had a couple of moments, the midseason premiere was one of the more well-balanced of the series. All of the characters were featured, including the children.
Here's the thing, it's going to be frustrating if the series goes out of the way to portray Jon as troubled to prop up Delilah. Gary is probably the only person in the universe who thought Jon was a saint. Jon being an imperfect person isn't the issue; the way it could be used to absolve Delilah is where it gets irksome.

Madrid — New York-based independent distributor Monument Releasing has secured North American distribution rights to “Our Time,” from Mexico’s Carlos Reygadas, winner of Cannes Jury (“Silent Light”) and Director (“Post Tenebras Lux”) prizes.
Monument Releasing will open “Our Time” in cinema theaters in North America in June 2019, followed by a VOD and home entertainment release.
Struck with Michael Weber’s The Match Factory, the sales agent on the film, as well as one of its co-producers, the deal will give more outlets to a title which world premiered at last year’s Venice Festival, after Reygadas’ first four main features played Cannes.
“Our Time” turns on a couple who live on a ranch in , central Mexico, raising fighting bulls. Esther runs the ranch, Juan, a renown poet, raises the bulls. They have an open relationship, but Juan’s world is thrown out of kilter when Esther becomes infatuated with the estate’s horse trainer.

The good news was that Matthew Gray Gubler returned from whatever personal project on which he was working.
That meant that Reid was back from his teaching sabbatical to help out on Criminal Minds Season 14 Episode 11.
What does this mean in real terms? Well, Reid being there makes any episode better.
Why? I'd have to say believability. When Reid proclaims something, it just feels right. He's the master of minutia.
It also comes down to a viewer's comfort zone. I'm more likely to accept a conclusion from Reid, Rossi, Jj, and Prentiss because, well, they've put in the time. They're the veteran profilers.
Lewis, Alvez, and Simmons seem perfectly capable, but we haven't been getting to know them for a decade. To me, Lewis feels like a professor, with Alvez and Simmons seeming more like cops. And likely they'll never get the chance to reach veteran-profiler status.

The series launches October 5.
The first episode, “The Body,” stars Tom Bateman, Rebecca Rittenhouse, David Hull, Aurora Perrineau and Ray Santiago, and was written by Paul Fischer and Paul Davis (who also directs). The official synopsis: “A sophisticated hitman with a cynical view on modern society finds his work made more difficult when he has to transport a body on Halloween night, but everyone is enamored by what they think is his killer costume.” It’ll also world premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival on Sept. 21.

"You know how hard it is for him to try to find work out here with his record now..." Monument Releasing has unveiled a trailer for the new film both written and directed by acclaimed indie actor/filmmaker Mark Webber, titled Flesh and Blood. Webber tells a very personal story, blurring the line between narrative and documentary, involving his own actual, real-life family. The title of the film is a reference to his decision to confront a person from his past, raising the question: "Will Mark's life remain defined by his own flesh and blood?" In addition to Webber, the cast includes Guillermo Santos, Mark's younger brother who struggles with Asperger's Syndrome in real life, Big G played by Guillermo's actual father, and Cheri played by Cheri Honkala, Mark's real-life mother, anti-poverty activist, and the Green Party's nominee for vice-president in the 2012 Us presidential election. Her activism and her choices...
