Denis Leary is set to star in the newly greenlit single-camera comedy Going Dutch from creator/showrunner Joel Church-Cooper (Brockmire) and Fox Entertainment Studios. Leary executive produces alongside Jack Leary (Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll) under their Amoeba production banner and Church-Cooper.
Going Dutch follows an arrogant loudmouth U.S. Army Colonel who, after an epically unfiltered rant, is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least important army base in the world. After serving with distinction in every warzone of the last three decades, he now finds himself in charge of a base with no guns, weapons, or tactical purpose.
Instead, it has a Michelin-star level commissary, a top-notch bowling alley, and the best (and only) fromagerie in the U.S. Army. Surrounded by a diverse group of underdogs, the colonel tries to reinstall military discipline and professionalism with the...

Despite some of the Ssu movies getting mixed or negative reviews (like Morbius), the Ssu keeps going and now has many live-action and animated projects in the works, focusing on Spider-Man’s side characters and villains. ‘Madame Web’ came out on February 14th and didn’t do well, with Dakota Johnson criticizing its development publicly.
Upcoming releases include ‘Kraven the Hunter’ on August 30th, 2024, and ‘Venom: The Last Dance,’ which changed its release date to October 25th instead of November 3rd. ‘Venom’ is the most successful franchise in the Ssu, so it’s not surprising that there are reports of Feige wanting to bring him into the MCU.
Even though “The Last Dance” marks the conclusion of Venom’s current story, it doesn’t signal the end of Venom-related projects. Recently, there have been discussions about an animated R-rated Venom project in the works. Now, a prominent source, CanWeGetSomeToast, has...

When Josh Hutcherson was cast in "Five Nights at Freddy's," it just made sense. Director and co-writer Emma Tammi's film adaptation of the lore-heavy hit horror video game franchise has the actor playing Mike Schmidt, an Average Joe who takes a job as the night security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, unaware of that tiny issue where the entertainment center's animatronic mascots come to life and begin massacring people after midnight. Mike himself is the type of archetypical hero Hutcherson is best known for portraying; a humble everyman who must rise to the occasion in the face of extraordinary circumstances.
In a way, Hutcherson's unlikely transformation into one of this century's major genre movie and TV actors began with his first feature film, "American Splendor." One of the best comic book adaptations ever made, the film carries over the meta-narrative and autobiographical elements of Harvey Pekar's source material,...

Joel Edgerton will star in and executive produce the sci-fi limited series set for nine episodes that will be produced for Apple TV+ by Sony Pictures Television. The story is based on the blockbuster book by Blake Crouch. The show will also be written by Crouch, and he will serve as showrunner.
Hailed as one of the best sci-fi novels of the decade, “Dark Matter” is a story about the road not taken, Apple said.

The cabler ordered a third season of the top-rated anthology comedy series.
Miracle Workers Season 3 takes cast members Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Karan Soni to the American Old West.
TBS has tapped Dan Mirk and Robert Padnick to serve as showrunners for the newest installment.

It’s fair to say that Chris Mark didn’t have a whole lot to do in The Boys’ Season 2 as Blindspot! At least, it doesn’t look like we’ll see him pop up again any time soon.
Mark is a prolific and respected stunt performer and fight choreographer, who you’ve probably already seen in a bunch of things to date. Though the Canadian actor’s speaking roles are less common, he recently appeared as Yuuto Murakami in Netflix’s October Faction and as Bruce Lee in Hulu’s Future Man, but it’s as a stuntman that he’s notched up most of his credits in the likes of Suicide Squad, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Pacific Rim and Star Trek Beyond.
In The Boys’ second season premiere, “The Big Ride”, Mark plays the show’s riff on Marvel’s Daredevil, Blindspot. The young man is clearly extremely agile and talented,...

Exclusive: ABC has put in development a single-camera matchmaking comedy from The High Note and Late Night director Nisha Ganatra and ABC Signature, where Ganatra is under an overall deal.
Written, directed and executive produced by Ganatra through her Ladies’ Car Productions, the Untitled Matchmaking Comedy revolves around an unlucky-in-love romantic and her no-nonsense mom who butt heads as they run the most successful matchmaking service in Little India.
ABC Signature, part of Disney Television Studios, is the studio.
Ganatra most recently directed Focus Features’ dramedy The High Note starring Tracee Ellis Ross and Dakota Johnson. Before that she helmed the film Late Night starring Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling.
After graduating from NYU, Ganatra was working as an indie filmmaker — her first movie was the 1999 Chutney Popcorn — when she was brought in as a main director alongside creator Jill Soloway and a consulting producer on the first season of Amazon’s Transparent,...

It might sound a little far-fetched when you hear it now, but back in 2014 there was some genuine concern that Seth Rogen might have ended up being responsible for World War III. The Interview was a satirical action comedy that saw James Franco play a talk show host who heads to North Korea to interview Kim Jong-un with his long-suffering producer played by Rogen in tow, and shenanigans quickly ensue.
While that seems like the kind of button-pushing controversy you’d expect from the likes of Rogen, Franco and writer Dan Sterling, who previously worked on the likes of The Daily Show and South Park, the mid-budget studio comedy inadvertently turned out to be the cause of a potentially major international incident between North Korea and the United States.
The North Korean government threatened action if Sony released the film, causing the studio to make heavy edits to appease the country’s notoriously strict regime,...

Seth Rogen built his career on playing slackers, stoners and lovable schlubs, but there’s a lot more strings to the 38 year-old’s bow than you’d think. Not only is he a prolific writer alongside creative partner Evan Goldberg, with the duo having played key roles in developing popular TV shows like Preacher, Future Man and The Boys, but Rogen is also a well-known advocate in raising awareness for Alzheimer’s, even testifying in front of the United States Senate in 2014.
While he’s largely tended to stick to the comedy genre in his big screen appearances, the actor has ventured outside of his comfort zone before, most notably headlining Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet and playing a key supporting role in Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs. The former may have disappointed at the box office and done little to convince audiences that the Pineapple Express star could believably play a superhero,...

Even though the movie was released over a decade ago, every now and then talk of a sequel to 2008 stoner comedy Pineapple Express resurfaces. Just a couple of months ago, producer Judd Apatow said he had an amazing idea for a follow-up but didn’t think it would ever happen, and based on how busy the movie’s major players are these days, he’s probably right.
Star and co-writer Seth Rogen always seems to have something on the go with creative partner Evan Goldberg, with the two having recently moved into directing as well as acting as executive producers on numerous TV shows including Preacher, Future Man and Amazon’s smash hit superhero satire The Boys.
James Franco, meanwhile, might have scaled back his output over the last couple of years, but he still finds time to act, direct, write scripts and novels, produce and even paint, while director...
