Rise of the Incubus (2013)
*** (out of 4)
This six minute interview with monster maker John Naulin can be found on the Shout Factory! release of DEADLY BLESSING, the 1981 Wes Craven film. Naulin starts off talking about his days at Don Post and how this eventually led him to working on movies including the Michael Myers mask in HALLOWEEN and giving David Lynch some pointers on THE ELEPHANT MAN. We then get into the production of DEADLY BLESSING and a title card at the start explains that the studio wasn't happy with the original ending so Naulin was brought on to create an incubus. If you're a fan of DEADLY BLESSING then you'll enjoy hearing the stories that are told here. However, at just six minutes one wishes this ran longer and got into more details of his career. Still, it's certainly worth watching if you're a fan of the movie.
